Respawn has recently put up a job offer on LinkedIn that advertises a position within the company for a new game that the team is working on, speculated to be linked to Titanfall. This leaves many long-time fans of Titanfall curious about where the series is set to go from here.

It's already rumored that Respawn is working on another title in the Titanfall universe and that this title will not explicitly be Titanfall 3. It's been over a decade since the initial release of Titanfall, and following the release of the sequel in 2016, it seems most of Respawn's energy regarding the Titanfall series has been directed at the highly successful battle royale Apex Legends. While nothing is explicitly confirmed regarding the future of Titanfall outside of Apex Legends, many fans are still holding out hope that Respawn hasn't forgotten about the series entirely, and recent news has suggested that even if the series itself doesn't carry on, the world it created certainly will, and not just through Apex Legends.

Titanfall May Be Getting Another Game, But There's a Catch

Fans of Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall series should be delighted to hear that a new installment could be in development, though there's a catch.

As originally reported by eXputer, the job listing appeared a few days ago on LinkedIn and is seeking an individual to join an incubation team with Respawn to work on an unnamed game. The position states wanting someone with long experience in the gaming industry, specifically with designing multiplayer FPS games. Respawn has a wide range of notable titles, but when it comes to multiplayer FPS games none stand out more than Titanfall and Apex Legends. The possibility of a potential new game within the Titanfall world excites many fans, leading many to believe that this position is linked to the earlier rumors that Respawn is working on a new IP within the Titanfall universe.

Respawn Is Currently Hiring for An Upcoming Multiplayer FPS Title

Despite many fans expressing a desire for a third installment of Titanfall, including the Respawn CEO himself wanting a new Titanfall game, it seems highly unlikely to become a reality. Nothing official has been said about the future of Titanfall by Respawn itself outside of uncertainty, and Titanfall 2 unfortunately underperformed on launch. Despite this, a new game that is set within the Titanfall universe could be a way to start fresh and tell a story that can separate itself from what Apex Legends has become. However, this job listing could also be for a brand-new IP, completely separate from anything Respawn has done before, so fans should keep that possibility in mind.

Respawn is already planned to have a busy year throughout 2024, with constant work on Apex Legends alongside development on a third installment of the Star Wars: Jedi series as well as working on an unnamed Star Wars RTS-style game alongside a studio called Bit Reactor. As such, it's highly possible that we won't hear anything concrete regarding this unnamed project for a long time, as it's in the early enough stages to be looking for people to join its development team. Despite this, the news that something new may be coming to the Titanfall series, even if it's just a rumor, is enough to keep many fans going.
