The CEO of Respawn Entertainment voiced his desire to make Titanfall 3 someday. While Apex Legends is one of Respawn Entertainment’s main priorities, the series that the battle royale spun-off from, Titanfall, hasn’t been receiving the same amount of attention in the last few years. This focus was then further reduced when the developer announced that it was working on three Star Wars games, with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor being released at the end of April after much anticipation. Titanfall's lack of focus was confirmed by the CEO of Respawn Entertainment, confirming that the series has no plans for the moment.Titanfall was first released in 2014, being an FPS game that combined ground combat with Mecha-styled robot action. While the first game was a mixed bag, 2016's Titanfall 2 was a surprisingly improved sequel to many, having a short but explosive story campaign mode, along with iterating on the game’s combat. The game was released at the wrong time, however, sandwiched in-between both Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1, which ate into its sales. This is likely why the Titanfall series hasn’t been a high priority for the developer outside its shared connection with Apex Legends. Despite this, the CEO still wants a third Titanfall.RELATED: Apex Legends Reveals New Season 17 CharacterAccording to an interview with financial publication Barron (via Tae Kim), when Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella was asked about Titanfall’s future – specifically a third game in the series – he said that the studio isn’t working on anything that points towards it, but he would love to see it happen. He, however, also says that there are no “dedicated plans” towards it either.

Furthermore, Zampella notes that the Titanfall and Apex Legends shared universe is still quite beloved by many fans. He states that for it to come back, it’d have to be with both the “right time” and “right idea” too. It would also have to be something that won’t confuse Apex Legends fans who aren't "necessarily Titanfall fans yet." Zampella states it’s a hard question, but he’d love to see something about it.

There were some plans about a single-player Apex Legends spin-off game from earlier this year, where EA had reportedly canceled it behind closed doors, though some details managed to get leaked online. Regardless, the future of Titanfall is still quite murky for the time being, despite there being a lot of people, including Respawn's CEO, who want to see Titanfall 3 happen.
