While making his way through the world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Link will encounter a wide range of NPC's that engage his services as the Hero of Hyrule. Some of these quests provide Link with increases to his hearts or stamina, while others can provide helpful equipment. Many of the smaller quests may offer Link nothing more than an interesting story or memorable interaction. Regardless of the reward, Link will find benefits to completing all the amazing side stories offered in Tears of the Kingdom.

"The Missing Owner" is a side quest that Link can encounter very early into his time in Gerudo Town. Over time, this quest can lead Link to the Legendary 'Arms of the Seven,' but he must first deal with the struggles of the day to days lives of this rugged tribe living in the Gerudo desert. This guide will fully explore "The Missing Owner," offering everything Link will need to live up to his hero reputation.

How to Begin "The Missing Owner" in Tears of the Kingdom

To begin "The Missing Owner," Link will need to head to Gerudo Town in the southwestern corner of Hyrule. When Link first arrives in Gerudo Town, he will have had to face a massive sand storm to cross the desert. While it is possible to begin "The Missing Owner" before dealing with the storm, it's far easier to wait until after Link has completed "Riju of Gerudo Town."

Link will want to find Cara, a Gerudo merchant, in either the shelter beneath town, or inside the Jewelry Shop. If Link intends to find in the shelter, Link can find her stand by turning left after entering the chamber(-3871, -2960, 0033).

Once Link has cleared the storm from the area, Cara will move her wares up the center of town, along the main row of merchants. When looking at a map of town, Link can find the shop marked with a diamond ring symbol. Head there to speak with Cara.

Cara will inform Link that, while she has the ability to make Link a few accessories, the store's owner was the true artist. Unfortunately, the owner had gone out to look for materials before the upheaval, and has not returned. The only clue she gives Link is that they said they were heading out to the Toruma Dunes, which sits to the west of town.

The area Link must reach can be easily reached on foot, especially if he purchases TotK's Sand Boots. As link gets close to Toruma Dunes, look for a plume of smoke out in the distance. This will mark the exact location of the missing owner. When Link finally reaches the area, he'll find a Molduga circling around the rock the shop owner is standing on (-4772, -2826, 0034).

Defeating the Molduga

Molduga's are large beast that essentially 'swim' through the sand. They are incredibly sensitive to any movement on the sand, so the only safe space when near them is on some type of solid ground, like rocks or fragments of ancient ruins.

Link can use the beast's sense against it, throwing items out on the sand to lure it out where it is vulnerable. One of the best methods for this is the Time Bomb Zonai device. When the Molduga gets fairly close, fuse the Time Bomb to an arrow and shoot it onto the sand. The trick is getting the Molduga to take the bait before the bomb explodes. When done correctly, the creature will swallow the bomb and explode in his guts, temporarily paralyzing it and leaving it vulnerable.

If Link needs Time Bombs, there are several Device Dispensers that offer them, including the South Hyrule Sky Archipelago (-1220, -1583, 1007), and Courage Island (-2364, 0787, 0611).

Once paralyzed, the Molduga will expose its soft underbelly. Link can use any method of attack here, but make sure to focus on the belly. All other areas are heavily armored. Repeat this process to quickly dispatch the monster. Of course, if Link has any of his Sage companions with him, it will go even faster.

Speak with Isha to Complete The Missing Owner

When Link defeats the Molduga, he'll learn the owners name is Isha, and that she is extremely grateful for Link's intervention. She tells Link that if he can make it back to her shop, she'll craft him something very special. Isha then returns to Gerudo Town, leaving Link in Toruma Dunes.

If Link has completed the Soryotanog Shrine, he can immediately fast-travel back to Gerudo Town. If not, he can walk back, or use something like the Tears of the Kingdom's fan-favorite Hover Bike.

Once in town, head back to the Jewelry Shop to find Cara and Isha out front. When Link joins the conversation, Cara will thank him profusely, rewarding him with a diamond. Isha, however, explains that her reward is a little bit more complicated and asks Link to come back when he has more time. This will conclude "The Missing Owner," but when Link returns, he will be able to begin the process of crafting the Arms of the Seven, which includes the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker shield. Technically, the process plays out in the quest "Pride of the Gerudo," but it can all be considered the reward for helping Isha in "The Missing Owner."
