Quick Links
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a massive list of side content for Link to explore when not following the main story thread. Many of these quests are bite-sized adventures, just enough to give Link a brief respite from his Ganondorf-hunting duties. However, there are a rare few quests that require Link to devote a considerable amount of time and energy to their completion. These missions, though completely optional, often provide players with some of Tears of the Kingdom's most rewarding story moments.
"Where are the Wells?" fits squarely into this category, requiring Link to scour Hyrule for every well in the game. This process affords Link the opportunity to visit every corner of the Kingdom, and in so doing, experience far more than those players that stick only to the main story. This guide will reveal each step the player must take to complete "Where are the Wells?", including the exact location of every well in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Start Where Are The Wells? in TotK
"Where are the Wells?" can be started fairly early in Tears of the Kingdom, practically as soon as Link is set free in Lookout Landing. In the northeastern corner of the compound, Link will find the Lookout Landing Well, possibly the first well he will encounter. At the bottom of the well, he will find a character name Fera. Speaking to Fera will initiate "Where are the Wells?".
During the course of the mission, any time Link finds a new well, he can return to Fera at the Lookout Landing Well. For every new well Link finds, Fera will give him 10 rupees, and tell him exactly how many wells are left to find. In the above image, Fera explains to Link that he has 42 wells left to find.
How to Find Wells in TotK
If Link is setting out with the express purpose of finding wells, he can use the Sensor Plus upgrade to be notified any time he is near one. Link will need to make his way through Robbie's quest line in order to gain the ability to upgrade the Purah Pad. Robbie will eventually offer Link the "Presenting: Sensor +" mission, which will allow Link to plug any item from the compendium into the Sensor system. Make sure to take a photo of a well to add it to the compendium.
Additionally, there are certain areas Link can expect to find wells:
- In all the main settlements of Hyrule; Hateno Village, Kakariko Village
- Near Stables - Usually in Back
- Ruined settlements
Using the Sensor Plus near any of these landmarks will usually lead Link to a well.

How to Complete Where Are The Wells?
Unlike many side quests, "Where are the Wells?" does not notify Link when he has visited all 58 wells. Fera will give Link an accounting of all the remaining wells each time he brings her information, so make sure to pay attention to this number. Once Link has visited each well, return to Fera to receive any remaining payment, along with the All's Well snow globe. With this complete, Link has finished "Where are the Wells?"
