Only a handful of shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom require the player to complete more than one challenge to receive its Light of Blessing. The Mayanas Shrine in the eastern Hyrule skies must first be materialized by completing "The South Lanayru Sky Crystal" shrine quest; only then may players enter the shrine and take on the challenge of "The Ice Guides You" waiting inside.
Mayanas Shrine Location in TotK
In Tears of the Kingdom, players will be able to find the Mayanas Shrine in the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago at the coordinates 4614, -0948, 1790.
Using the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower, players can reach the skies near the archipelago.
On many of the nearby sky islands in this area, there are pre-built flying vehicles than players can commandeer to reach the shrine's island.
Players should continue to fly northeast toward the coordinates to find the Mayanas Shrine on one of the larger islands.
Players can interact with the shrine's terminal to begin the first challenge: "The South Lanayru Sky Crystal" shrine quest.
The South Lanayru Sky Crystal Walkthrough
As the quest begins, the shrine will emit bright green beam that is tethered a crystal Link will need to retrieve and return.
Players will be able to see the beam connect to a point high on the larger island floating above, and they will either need to ascend the smaller islands to reach it or use a vehicle to fly directly there.
To fly, players can either use their vehicle from the previous voyage, or walk over to the coordinates 4694, -0919, 1789 to find another vehicle already assembled as well as a Beam Emitter.
The crystal will be located inside a cave blocked by vines on the side of the island. By attaching the Beam Emitter to their vehicle, players can easily break apart the vines and enter the area.
Players will find the crystal behind another wall of vines in the back of this tall alcove. The vines can be burned down with any source of fire or cut down using most weapons.
Players will need to attach the crystal to their vehicle or use the parts available nearby to build a new one.
With crystal in tow, Link can return to the shrine to complete the shrine quest and gain access to the interior challenge.
The Ice Guides You Walkthrough
Inside the Mayanas Shrine, players are met with the challenge of "The Ice Guides You" in which they must use pieces of ice to help hit a target on the other side of some spikes.
The first thing players will notice as they enter the shrine is the pool of water surrounded by Ice Fruit and Frost Emitters.
Players can activate one of the Frost Emitters to create sheets of ice on the surface of the water.
The Ice Fruit growing in the shrine can also be thrown to create sheets of ice.

Mayanas Shrine - First Puzzle
For the first puzzle, players will need to use ice to help slide a metal plate down a ramp and across several rows of spikes to hit a moving target.
Players should attach one of the metal plates to one of the sheets of ice to add a good bit of weight.
This puzzles in this shrine are all about timing, so success may vary between the various methods used by players.
One method is to hold the plate in the center and let it slide down as the target reaches either end of its path. The timing paired with the weight of the plate should allow players to hit the target as it cross back through the middle.
In the next room, players have the option to immediately complete the shrine and receive a Light of Blessing from the statue, or they can walk past this area to solve a second puzzle for a bonus chest.
Mayanas Shrine - Second Puzzle & Hidden Chest
To receive the shrine's hidden chest, players will need to complete a second sliding puzzle.
Players only limitation for the second puzzle is their imagination. There are a number of ways to successfully hit the stationary target including building a guide rail or creating one long platform to place on the target.
For reliability, most success has been found in attaching ice to one of the metal plates as before. Players should walk to about halfway down the ramp and stand in the center with the plate close. With less time on the ramp, the plate will not build up enough speed and should slide down the spikes onto the target.
With the chest room opened, players can enter to claim a Zonaite Shield for their journey.
If they haven't yet, players can return to the statue's Zonai terminal to receive their Light of Blessing and complete the shrine.
