While Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom follows a lot of the same path as Breath of the Wild in terms of content and mechanics, it also takes its time to add and do things that are complete unique to it alone. With weapon crafting, fusion, and all the other amazing features available to players, the possibilities are endless. Of course, this also includes new ingredients and materials for players to use.

To support the more creative features in this sequel, Tears of the Kingdom has a new material in it called Zonaite. It is quite valuable, and players will want to find as much Zonaite as possible.

Where to Find Zonaite

Small amounts of Zonaite can be found in caves in the tutorial area. They will look like glowing deposits of rock. In order to gather the Zonaite, however, players must use Fusion to create a hammer. Next, equip the hammer and hit the deposit until it breaks. Collect all the Zonaite that drops. Players should not expect to get much in the tutorial area, but it is a good way to start gathering Zonaite.

However, once players have completed the quest to open the Temple of Time and gone down to Hyrule there are significantly better and more efficient methods of obtaining more Zonaite. Once the Depths are accessible, go down there. Deposits of Zonaite are significantly more common in the Depths, and players can also find Large Zonaite down there as well.

While it can be dangerous, one of the best ways in the Depths to get Zonaite is to find enemies and kill them. For some reason, monsters in the Depths seem to be made of Zonaite. Anytime an enemy is killed, several pieces of Zonaite will drop. Of course, the tricky part about this method is that enemies in the Depths are stronger and significantly more dangerous. Ambushing groups with Bomb Flowers is a good way to take out a bunch of enemies at once.

What is Zonaite Used For?

Zonaite is an essential material when it comes to dealing with any Zonai technology. Zonaite can be taken to a Forge and refined into either a Zonai Charge or a Crystallized Charge. Zonai Charges can be used to instantly recharge a portion of the Energy Cell. Crystallized Charge, on the other hand, can be used to expand the Energy Cell so that players can power their creations for much longer.

Unfortunately it takes a lot of Zonaite to upgrade the Energy Cell. Players will need to gather enough Zonaite to have it refined into 100 Crystallized Charge. As such, this will take some time to do, but the process will be worth it since having more power in the Energy Cell is useful later on in the game.
