The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a good deal of environments in chilly weather, and Link will be able to take advantage of it with the Frostbite Armor. The set of armor imbues Link's attacks with ice whenever he is in low-temprature climates, though does not protect him from the cold like other armor or eating certain food.
The Frostbite Armor set is somewhat easy to acquire in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, though requires a bit of traveling through snowy mountains. The set consists of three pieces: Frostbite Headdress, Frostbite Shirt, and Frostbite Trousers. This guide will show players where each piece is located and how to get them.
How to Get the Frostbite Armor in Tears of the Kingdom
Frostbite Headress
The Frostbite Headdress is inside the Lake Kilsie cave at the north end of the lake, and northwest of the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower. Players can launch from the tower, or fast travel to the Ijo-o Shrine in the West Hebra Sky Archipelago and skydive down, to get closer to the cave.
Players will have to quickly defeat a Horriblin once entering the cave. The cave room has a continual gust of wind coming the ground and an opening on the opposite. Instead, players should look to the right to finds another opening blocked by hanging icicles.
Use a Bomb Fruit fused with an arrow to clear the passage completely, then use the wind to rise up and glide over to it. The room will have a small hut with the treasure chest containing the Frostbite Headdress.
How to Get the Frostbite Shirt in Tears of the Kingdom
The Frostbite Shirt is located in the Brightcap Cave southeast of Rito Village and the Lucky Clover Gazette. Players can also get closer by fast traveling to the Oromuwak Shrine. Players should take the road from the Gazette leading to Tabantha Hills, and there will be a camp with two people outside a giant cave on the right of the road.
The two sisters will ask for 10 Brightcaps, and giving it to them will complete the Cave Mushrooms That Grow side quest and receive a Spicy Tomato Mushroom Stew. Going inside the cave, it is very straightforward with no alternative paths. Players will have to fight a Horriblin and a Like Like to get past.
The chest containing the Frostbite Shirt will be a little hut surrounded by thorns at the end of the path. Players can either use a Fire Fruit to get rid of the thorns or simply climb on the walls over them.
How to Get the Frostbite Trousers in Tears of the Kingdom
The Frostbite Trousers can be found in the Hebra Headspring Cave in the Hebra Headspring, and is east of the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower. The cave is at the north end of the river.
There are only two Ice Keese to take care of inside the cave. The challenge is getting to the other side of the room without touching freezing cold water that will damage Link. Players can climb and jump from spire to spire, or try to climb up the cliff on the left side of the room and glide over.
The opening to the treasure chest room is above the water, but players can make an ice platform with White Chuchu Jelly, Ice Fruit, or a makeshift Ice Wand. Players can quickly jump from the platform to the wall and quickly scale it to the opening before sliding back into the water. The treasure chest containing the Frostbite Trousers will be in a little hut inside the opening.
