The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a huge amount of weapons and armor for Link to discover during his travels. And while Link can find a lot of these items in various caves and hideaways, there is a special collection of gear that Link will only be able to get by fighting his way through Tears of the Kingdom's various coliseums.

Coliseums, for the most part, are large battle arenas found mostly in the vast Depths below Hyrule. In almost every case, Link will enter a coliseum and face five rounds of enemies, with the challenge increasing each round. Through these challenges, Link will acquire many of Tears of the Kingdom's most useful masks and helmets, some of which offer benefits found in no other single piece of armor. This guide will lead Link to every coliseum in Hyrule, and reveal what Link will face upon entering, and what he'll receive upon completion.

Coliseum Ruins: Trousers of Awakening

The Coliseum Ruins (-1154, -1268, 0046) stand as the only coliseum found on the surface of Hyrule, and as such it functions quite differently to the rest of the group. Link will find this coliseum near the northwestern edge of the Great Plateau, near the Outskirt Stable and Great Fairy Kaysa.

Link will face a single Thunder Gleeok at this coliseum. While it can be intimidating at first, Gleeoks become much easier if Link has multi-shot bows. Use TotK's Ascend ability to reach one of the higher level platforms, which allows Link to jump and slow time. This will allow Link to really focus on the Gleeok's eyes. Make sure to bring any type of protection from electric damage, such as the Rubber Armor set, or food made with Zapshrooms.

After Link defeats the Thunder Gleeok, head to the back of the coliseum. Here Link will find a small puzzle with two statues of Hylian soldiers. One statue will have a Soldier's Claymore in its hands, and the other will be missing its sword. Use Ultrahand to move the sword into place; Link will know he's done it right when it snaps into position. This will open a small chamber that Link can drop into, leading to one of Misko's treasure rooms (-1156, -1264, 0034). Read the tablet before the chest to begin "Misko's Treasure of Awakening III," then open the chest to get the Trousers of Awakening.

Floating Coliseum: Majora's Mask

The Floating Coliseum (-1131, -1195, -0499) is located directly beneath the Coliseum Ruins. It can be found in the exact same location on the map of the Depths. For the purposes of this guide, this will be the first coliseum that adheres to the general structure that all Depths coliseums conform to. However, Link can still choose to complete the coliseums in any order he wants.

It is likely that many players will find the Floating Coliseum to be the most difficult of the bunch, as its featured monster is the Lynel. Link can greatly increase his chances if he brings attack-increasing meals, summons his Sage companions, and upgrades his armor at the Great Fairies.

Desert Coliseum: Shiek's Mask

The Desert Coliseum (-4310, -3781, -0479) is found in the lower left corner of the Depths, almost all the way to the western edge. In this challenge, Link will have to face Horriblins, a monster that tends to stick to the ceilings of their fighting areas. The Desert Coliseum features an extremely low ceiling, making it very easy to attack the Horriblins with any long weapon. Most spears can reach them with ease, but a spear fused with any type of monster horn will make even shorter work of this challenge.

Lone Island Coliseum: Midna's Helmet

The Lone Island Coliseum (4614, -3561, -0472) is located in the Depths below Eventide Island. The only difficult part about this challenge is getting to the island, which has the only chasm that leads to this coliseum. If Link constructs a Hover Bike, or a similar flying machine, he can make the journey far less complicated than it may originally appear.

This coliseum features only Bokoblins, making it the easiest coliseum to complete, at least in regard to combat difficulty. Link can complete this task with just about any weapon, though he should be careful during the last wave, as the basic Bokoblin will shoot bomb flowers, causing significant damage if his armor is properly armored through Tears of the Kingdom's Great Fairies.

Scorching Coliseum: Zant's Helmet

The Scorching Coliseum (2147, 3180, -0838) is found in the northern section of Depths, and lives up to its name. It sits just north of the massive lava lake marking Death Mountain's location above, and as such reaches unbearably hot temperatures. To avoid taking damage, Link will either have to wear at least one piece of armor with the 'Flame Guard' perk, or take the equivalent fireproof elixir. The best option is purchasing TotK's Flamebreaker armor set in Goron City, as it will help this task and many more.

This coliseum features Moblins as Link's foe, making it something of a challenge, but nothing that preparation can't overcome. The reward from this challenge, Zant's Helmet, is one of the game's best items, single-handedly making Link unfreezable.

Secluded Coliseum: Ravio's Hood

The Secluded Coliseum (2173, 1861, -0467) is located in the southeastern portion of the Depths, beneath Fort Hateno. Lizalfos are the focus this time around, and their fast movement speed can prove to be tricky to deal with. Luckily, two of the Lizalfos are element-based, meaning a single shot from an arrow fused with an item of the opposite element will destroy it. For example, a Fire-Breath Lizalfos can be destroyed by a single arrow fused with Ice Fruit. Freezing non-elemental Lizalfos can help deal with their speed, so sticking with this tactic throughout will help Link prevail.

Forest Coliseum: Korok Mask

The Forest Coliseum (-0083, 2482, -0621) is found in the area of the Depths that sits below the Great Hyrule Forest. Just like on the surface, this section is cut out of the surrounding area. Link will find the coliseum in the northwestern corner of the region.

This coliseum functions slightly differently than the others. Instead of five waves of enemies, Link will only have to defeat a single Black Hinox.
