When it comes to side quests, there are a ton of them that will appear as players explore the world in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While it may always be important to get back to the story, Link will have enough time to pursue other things and help out the good people of Hyrule. Gaining some rewards never hurt either.

One of these side quests can be found in the Hebra Mountains region, where Link can help out an NPC who was hauling food supplies out of a cave before an unfortunate cave-in stopped him in his tracks. This guide for The Blocked Cave side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will contain all the necessary info needed to get this done.

The Blocked Cave Walkthrough

The Blocked Cave Location

After starting the main quest, Regional Phenomena, players can explore the Hebra Mountains. Near the Hebra South Summit, just north of Rospro Pass, is where the side quest giver is located. Head to the coordinates -3584, 2471, 0228 to find Mazli. While the area may appear cold, there is no need for frost protection just yet.

Through the conversation, it is clear that there is a pressing need to help Mazli out so that he can get to his food. He also helpfully provides some hints as to how players can clear this particular conundrum in front of them.

There are now several options for players to choose from:

  • The quickest way to complete this side quest and clear the cave-in is to use any bombs that Link might have. Throwing one at the rocks will destroy them, opening up the way to Mazli's food in the quickest time possible.
  • Another possible solution is to use the Fuse ability. Take a weapon and Fuse it with one of the nearby rocks. Attack the rocks causing the cave-in, and eventually, it will be cleared. It is likely to require several weapons to clear the way completely.

As Mazli pointed out, bomb flowers will come in handy for this problem. If the supply is running low, there is a nearby cave just east of the current location that contains bomb flowers. Attach these bomb flowers to an arrow, and fire at least twice at the rocks, destroying them.

Whichever way is chosen, once the way is cleared, talk to Mazli again. The grateful NPC will reward Link with 20 Rupees and send him on his way to the next quest in Hyrule.
