For players jumping into The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the most obvious thing to note is that this is a world full of things to do besides trying to save the day from whatever evil has reared its ugly head. Horses can be tamed to make exploration swifter, Zonai devices pave the way for all sorts of ingenious contraptions, and there is plenty of folk around that could use some help from a hero.

This is where side quests come in, allowing players to get up to other things beyond the main adventure and discover a secret or two in exchange for valuable rewards. For anyone hoping to get some help regarding The Abandoned Laborer side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, this guide is going to be very helpful.

Before this side quest can be attempted, it is important to have already started or completed the quest line, Yunobo of Goron City. This will ensure that Yunobo is now part of the party. Now, go to the northwest side of Death Mountain in the Eldin region.

Climb up the ledges, and eventually, the Death Mountain West Tunnel entrance will appear. The exact coordinates are 2341, 2686, 0514.

The Abandoned Laborer Walkthrough

Once inside the cave, get across the lava chasm by climbing or using the Paraglider. On the other end, players will encounter Mota just near the broken tracks. Trapped in this predicament, the NPC will require Link's aid to escape to safety.

To do so, there are a few steps to take note of:

  • Look for the mine cart nearby, and use Ultrahand to place it right side up on the track.
  • Speak to Mota and get him to take a seat in the cart.
  • Next, move behind the cart, and command Yunobo to execute his charge attack on the cart by pressing A. This will enable the cart to get over the broken tracks.

  • Now that Mota is safely across, Link can then paraglide and climb the wall near the end of the tracks.
  • Speak to Mota once more, and receive his thanks for saving him. The reward awaiting players is a Large Zonai Charge.

For players who much rather experiment with the environment, blowing up the strange-looking wall at the far end of the cave will reveal two Rockets, which can be used to fly the cart to safety instead.
