Someone looking to finish the fight against Ganondorf has created a tank in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom modeled after some heavy artillery from the Halo franchise. It's just the latest demonstration of what players can make in the most recent Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

One of the mechanics players are latching onto is Link's new Ultrahand ability. Players have been experimenting with the many uses of Ultrahand, such as moving objects and fitting them together to solve puzzles or create weapons. The system was made with creativity in mind, and Zelda fans have found themselves building all sorts of objects with varying degrees of utility.

The Unwritten Rules of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Explained

Although the journey through Tears of the Kingdom's Hyrule is treacherous, it gets easier once players internalize the game's most important lessons.

One particular player took inspiration from the Halo series to create a vehicle inspired by the Covenant Wraith tanks. In a video posted to Reddit, user superbatterybros93 demonstrated the tank's ability in battle against a group of bokoblins. Other members of the subreddit r/hyruleengineering seemed very taken with the build's look and combat efficiency, making it another addition to the list of vehicles made in Tears of the Kingdom. While this version lacks the heavy plasma mortar of the Wraith, it does seem to float or glide along the ground in a similar fashion even if it's using fans and not advanced alien technology.

Those who have battled the Covenant in the Halo series probably recall encountering Wraiths with the same feeling of dread the bokoblins in the video felt. Though not capable of Banshee-level backflips and barrel rolls, the mortar launcher on a Wraith can still be devastating to a Spartan who isn't prepared for it. Instead, the Sand Wraith--as the creator calls it--uses two forward-mounted lasers. One user described it as being similar to the AAT-1 tanks used in the Star Wars prequels. Superbatterybros93 actually confirmed in a comment that the tank is mostly based on the Halo Wraiths as well as the AAT, combining two devastating sci-fi battle tanks in one.

The Steady Evolution of Tears of the Kingdom Construction

One of the more interesting features of the tank is the spring-loaded hatch that moves into place once the tank is activated. The spring-loaded roof is a design that has been showing up more and more in Tears of the Kingdom builds, such as the race car one Zelda fan built. But there's an even more specific design element: the ornamental designs that look like fangs when the hatch closes. According to Superbatterybros93, lining up the teeth was the part of the build they were most satisfied with, and it does really add an extra dimension to the whole construction. Watching the development of Tears of the Kingdom builds in real-time is growing more and more exciting as players push the limits of what the game allows for and what the developers never thought possible.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to the beloved open-world adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This installment once again sees Link and Zelda battling to protect Hyrule from falling to Ganondorf. This new adventure takes place in the same land of Hyrule as Breath of the Wild but sees something called the Upheaval, which allows link to travel to Sky Islands, as well as deep into the Depths beneath Hyrule. Players can use special abilities to fuse together weapons, and build items to help them progress through the release.
