The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is getting its own Switch OLED console, which will launch on April 28. Nintendo has often released special edition versions of its Switch consoles to commemorate the system's biggest releases. Since Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may very well be the biggest exclusive to ever hit the Switch period, it's no surprise at all that Nintendo is releasing a console based on the highly-anticipated game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, a launch title for the Switch and one of the highest-rated video games ever made. It's been a whopping six years since Breath of the Wild released for the Switch, so Zelda fans are understandably anxious to play Tears of the Kingdom. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom release date is marked for May 12, but the Switch OLED based on the game will be out a couple of weeks in advance.

As previously stated, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED will launch on April 28. It comes with a special dock that is adorned with the franchise's logo, as well as gold and green Tears of the Kingdom-themed Joy-Con controllers. The Switch OLED does not come with a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and so it's likely that it will cost the normal $350 that other Switch OLED consoles cost. However, it's worth pointing out that actual pricing information has not been announced at the time of this writing.

Since Nintendo hasn't revealed the price of the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED console, the system itself has not been up for pre-order just yet. However, it seems highly likely that Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED pre-orders will be opening up very soon. Anyone interested in securing the console for themselves will want to make sure that they get a pre-order, as one has to imagine that the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED console will be hard to find, at least around its April 28 launch date.

Anyone wanting to buy this new Zelda Switch OLED console should keep in mind that it's highly likely the new Nintendo console will be releasing within the next couple of years. Fairly reputable leaks suggest that a new Nintendo console could be out in 2024, meaning it may be wiser to save one's money for the Switch's successor instead, whatever form it takes.
