The Mayoral Election in Hateno Village is one of the most involved quests in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, spanning multiple quests that have Link running all over Hateno Village. This specific quest has Link chasing down a mystery for Mayor Reede's wife, who is worried about her husband spending all night in his shed, muttering to himself about something secret.

How To Trigger 'Reede's Secret' in Tears of the Kingdom
In order to trigger 'Reede's Secret,' Link must speak to Clavia, Reede's wife. She is usually in their house, which is located north of Hateno Village on the way towards Hateno School. She'll ask Link to find a way to uncover Reede's secret, as she worries about it impacting the upcoming mayoral election.
How To Complete 'Reede's Secret' in Tears of the Kingdom
The shed is located next to Reede and Clavia's house. Place a pin in it or select 'Reede's Secret' on the quest list for easy access later.
How to Access the Shed
Jump down Hateno Village North Well, pinned on the map above, and use Ultrahand to move the boulders out of the tunnel's path.
Using the map UI, head down the tunnel until Link is at the spot marked on the map below the shed. Make sure it's during the day, or Reede will catch him in the act and ascend directly into the shed above.
What is Reede's Secret?
Reede's secret is that he's investigating ways to create a new type of vegetable. This contradicts his mayoral platform of old-fashioned Hateno values, so he's kept it a secret from everyone he knows. Return to Clavia with the information.
Reede's Secret Quest Rewards
The reward for completing 'Reede's Secret' is ten Hylian Tomatoes - not bad for a day's work. They're vital in 'Hylian Tomato Pizza,' Hateno Village's new signature dish.
