A creative Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has devised a clever solution for one of the game’s most frustrating boss battles - Mucktorock. This method is the latest way that players have invented to take on some of the most challenging bosses in Tears of the Kingdom. The latest entry into the Zelda franchise introduced many new abilities and equipment, such as the Zonai devices that give players control over how they can interact with the game.

From using the Ultrahand ability to build a mega barrel bomb to defeat some of the game’s most challenging enemies like Molduga to one-shotting a Talus on a sky island from the ground, players have been challenging themselves in boss fights. Tears of the Kingdom reintroduced elemental temples to the series, which meant that fans would have to go up against some of the game’s most unique bosses. Nintendo took it a step further, and with the addition of the Depths, players can rechallenge the bosses of these temples, whether to test what weapons would be more viable against them or to discover strategies that would make the fights easier in future runs.

A user going by the handle Embarassed_Bat_417 posted on the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit showcasing how they easily took down Mucktorock, usually a frustrating boss, using a variety of Zonai devices. The video shows the player challenging the Water Temple boss in the Depths with a Zonai contraption consisting of sleds, wheels, a stabilizer, a homing cart, and hydrants to tie the build together. Embarassed_Bat_417 dubbed the invention the Anti-Muck Zonai Defense System, which follows the boss around the arena, clearing the piles of sludge that make it hard to move through. According to the OP, the device uses sleds, which helps to reduce the boss’ jump distance if it hits them, and having the arena muck-free allows the players and Sages to concentrate on combat, which was shown after the boss created its sludge shark to ride, only to have it quickly washed away.

The method was positively received by other users on the subreddit, with some expressing their frustrating experiences facing the boss. One player also noted that Embarassed_Bat_417’s device was a clever solution to this boss fight as it utilized a device with minimal Zonai Energy Cell depletion. With this new solution in hand, several users said that they would save the build to take on Mucktorock again.

This video perfectly shows why Tears of the Kingdom is one of Nintendo’s record-breaking games; it encourages and rewards players into taking chances and trying new approaches. Currently, there is no indication of when Nintendo will announce the next Zelda entry, but with how the company improved many aspects of a sequel set in the same world as Breath of the Wild, fans are excited about the franchise's future.
