An exceptionally crafty player has created the Generation 1 Pokemon Onix inside of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The groundbreaking building mechanic within Tears of the Kingdom has allowed players to create all sorts of things inspired by other Nintendo franchises as well as general pop culture touchstones. Even several months after the release of the latest Legend of Zelda title, the community appears to be thriving as in-game creations are seemingly only limited by the imagination.

Of course, many Tears of the Kingdom players will venture through the entirety of the game while only constructing basic vehicles and other essential tools. However, many imaginative gamers are diving deep into the mechanic to see the limits of what is actually possible. What the community has discovered is that nearly anything imaginable is creatable within the game, as is proven with marvels like the AT-AT a Tears of the Kingdom player made. It's not just vehicles and weapons, as fans have even taken to making their own Pokemon.

One of the most recent creations to be shared with the community is the massive Pokemon Onix which Reddit user chungdan crafted using a variety of in-game materials. The dedicated player recorded a 30-second video showcasing their creation from all sides as they ran around it. It is especially impressive considering the Pokemon was made roughly to scale judging from the various games and anime. While Onix might not be quite as useful as the flying USS Enterprise one Tears of the Kingdom gamer built, it certainly is epic.

The Onyx is as big as a house seen just off in the background. For something built out of explosives, monster parts, Zonaite devices, and rocks, the Onyx itself is immediately recognizable to a Pokemon fan. It doesn't do anything other than look really cool at the moment, but perhaps some inspiration can be taken from the controllable mech one Tears of the Kingdom player built. Whether the creator goes on to make more Pokemon remains to be seen, but this crossover is certainly a fan favorite within the community.

Tears of the Kingdom is one of the highest-rated games of all time, and players are still flocking to it several months later to make more discoveries within the massive open world and create incredible feats like this. It's a testament to the game that the building mechanic is only one of many impressive features, and it's a feature that keeps players coming back long after the main story has concluded.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
