One lucky player stumbled into a partial solution to an elusive quest while trying to fight a Flame Gleeok in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. They then took online to share their peculiar experience which exemplifies how Tears of the Kingdom is a problem-solver's paradise.

Minor gameplay spoilers for Tears of the Kingdom ahead.The three-headed elemental dragons called Gleeoks are one of over half a dozen new creature types that the latest Zelda game adds to Breath of the Wild's enemy pool. There are currently a dozen locations in Tears of the Kingdom where Gleeoks can be found. Among those spots are the Ancient Columns, which are situated on the hill overlooking the Tabantha Great Bridge from the southwest.
Apart from being home to a Flame Gleeok, the Ancient Columns are also the place where players can obtain the Tunic of Awakening, the central part of Link's Awakening armor set in Tears of the Kingdom. And while this piece of equipment is hidden behind a fairly obscure environmental puzzle, Reddit user First-Persimmon-2265 actually managed to stumble into its solution by complete accident; while flying toward the nearby Flame Gleeok, they landed on the exact column with the pressure plate that unlocks the hidden cave containing the Tunic of Awakening.
Some of the fans reacting to their lucky discovery expressed jealousy toward the player's smooth experience with this puzzle, revealing that they themselves spent an excruciatingly long time trying to locate the elusive cave after learning about its existence. Several such comments came from fans who outright claimed that the puzzle "drove [them] insane," while one player even revealed that they gave up after exploring the area for about an hour and being adamant not to use guides.
Much like the existence of the cave itself, the solution to this environmental puzzle is actually mentioned in one of the documents that Link can discover while following the Misko's Treasure quest line in Tears of the Kingdom. Many players will stumble upon this quest fairly early on in their playthroughs, as there are numerous characters across Hyrule who will be happy to add them to their journals. Not only do those quest givers stick to the main roads that the players themselves are likely to travel, but they are also hard to miss due to how extravagantly dressed they are.
The footage of this lucky solution to the Tunic of Awakening puzzle also confirms that Link can easily obtain the armor without fighting the nearby Flame Gleeok. Anyone who still wants to do that will want to come well-prepared, not least because Gleeoks are some of the most challenging enemies in Tears of the Kingdom.
