Some The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players are currently trying to find Kass, the Rito bard who offered helpful Shrine quest hints throughout Breath of the Wild. This accordion master proved to be so popular among the fandom that some players were previously calling for Tears of The Kingdom to give a bigger role to Kass.

Warning! Minor Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom spoilers below. The new Zelda game builds on its predecessor in quite a direct manner, as Tears of the Kingdom includes the entire Breath of the Wild map and the majority of its gameplay mechanics. Most characters from the 2017 title are hence also present in its sequel, though Kass appears to be an exception to that rule.

While that hasn't stopped some fans from looking for him, it's highly unlikely that Kass is currently part of the new game's roster. With Tears of the Kingdom sales being off to a strong start, someone would have plausibly stumbled upon Kass by now if he truly was present in the game. This ostensible omission does not appear to be accidental, as suggested by the fact that Nintendo sprinkled a number of references to Kass throughout Tears of the Kingdom.

Most notably, Tears of the Kingdom players can still find Kass's family in Rito Village. And while his wife doesn't mention her suspiciously missing husband, his kids do reference "dad" in one of their lines. Another Rito musician makes a passing reference to Kass at the end of one major quest, although he only refers to him as a "bard." Finally, Tears of the Kingdom contains an Easter egg referencing a reward that Kass gives to the players at the end of The Champions' Ballad DLC for Breath of the Wild.

Given that state of affairs, it's still possible that Kass might make an appearance in a future Tears of the Kingdom DLC. Such a turn of events wouldn't be unprecedented, given how The Champions' Ballad expansion previously introduced a number of additional characters to Breath of the Wild. On top of that, the final piece of DLC for Breath of the Wild also substantially expanded on Kass's backstory and gave him a central role in its overarching quest.

Nintendo hence already established a precedent for Kass-centric Zelda DLC. And while the company has yet to confirm that additional content for its latest title is currently in the works, the game's massive commercial success and Nintendo's post-launch support for Breath of the Wild both suggest that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom DLC is only a matter of time.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on the Nintendo Switch.
