In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are more types of weapons than most players could've ever predicted; this is all thanks to the Fuse ability, one of Link's powers in Tears of the Kingdom. Fuse allows gamers to fuse objects and items with Link's main weapon, shield, and arrows.

Even though some weapon creations will be completely random and simply provide an attack increase upon fusion, there are several weapon combinations that will create a specific type of weapon. This guide will show players how they can make their own fans in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, also known as guster-type weapons.

How to Make a Fan

In Breath of the Wild, players had to use Korok Leaves as fans, but it's no longer possible to find them in Tears of the Kingdom. Thankfully, there are other ways to get a working fan in this sequel.

Gamers can make their own fans in Tears of the Kingdom by fusing their weapons with Korok Fronds or any other wide and flat objects such as doors, barriers, boards, and even President Hudson cutouts.

Although they resemble fans and are used to create gusts of wind, these weapons are actually called gusters. Korok Fronds and boards are the most common materials that gamers will find to create this type of weapon, but once they gain access to the Tarrey Town storehouse, it's definitely worth fusing a weapon to a President Hudson cutout instead, as it provides +6 attack to the primary weapon instead of +1.

Guster Weapon Uses

With the abundance of Zonai devices in Tears of the Kingdom, it's likely that players won't need to create their own fans for puzzle-solving or transportation. However, guster weapons have their own uses that gamers can take advantage of during combat.

Guster weapons can still be used to move boats with a sail and spread wildfires.

When a player attacks an enemy with a guster weapon, it will push them back with a considerable amount of force. This is great not only for disarming monsters but also to get tougher enemies to fall into the water or down a cliff, so they're instantly defeated.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is all about outsmarting enemies and finding clever ways to take them down, even in the trickiest situations.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
