Heat-Endurance Contest! Quest Location

zelda totk endurance map

The Heat-Endurance Contest! side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be found at Mount Granajh in the Gerudo Canyon region. The coordinates for the exact location are (-1380, -3363, 0469).

Players can launch themselves from the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower and glide southeast to the mountain. It may take a fully upgraded stamina meter and the help of the Wind Sage Tulin's gust ability to complete the trip.

Players could also glide over to the East Gerudo Sky Archipelago from the tower and then use one of the Zonai Wing vehicles already made to get to the mountain easier. The only shrines that are nearby the mountain to fast travel to are the Kitawak Shrine at the base of the mountain and the Siyamotsus Shrine in the sky if already unlocked.

There will be an old man named Rahdo with a small camp at the mountain's peak, though players will need to complete the Cold-Endurance Contest! side quest from him first before starting the Heat-Endurance Contest! side quest.

After defeating Rahdo by surviving the cold night in the desert, he will then challenge Link to survive in the desert during the day in extremely hot temperatures. Just like the first challenge, players will only be able to stand on a small pillar while wearing no clothes or armor. The side quest will also require 150 Rupees to take part in.

That means wearing heat-resistant armor like the Desert Voe set cannot be done. Other methods to make it through the cold night include eating food with heat-resistant bonuses or fusing a Sapphire to one of your weapons and keeping it equipped.

Players without those resources can also use Ultrahand to build a makeshift shelter from the sun using the rock slabs pictured above. It does not have to look great as long as Link is in the shadows and must be built during the challenge. After standing on the pillar and surviving until the afternoon, Rahdo will reward Link with 300 Rupees and concede defeat in desert endurance challenges.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
