A player discovered a new glider trick while facing off against an enemy in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The glider may be acquired early into the main story of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so many players might be able to take advantage of this new trick.

The Kingdom of Hyrule is even larger than before in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the glider is extremely useful while exploring the massive map. After completing the "To the Kingdom of Hyrule" quest, players may aid Purah in the "Crisis at Hyrule Castle" quest to obtain the glider and gain access to Skyview Towers scattered across Hyrule. Link may use the glider while in midair, allowing the Hylian hero to reach distant locations and use considerably less stamina when compared to sprinting. The glider is a requirement for completing certain shrines scattered throughout Hyrule. One player pointed out that the glider may be also useful in combat with the right timing.

While fighting a Black Bokoblin, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player PSPMan3000 managed to evade the enemy's attacks by using a new glider trick. The player was able to evade the Black Bokoblin's attack by opening Link's glider after successfully activating a flurry rush attack. Shortly after backflipping away from the Bokoblin's attack, the first swing from PSPMan3000's flurry rush attack was timed perfectly with the opening of the glider. The backwards momentum caused by this new glider trick allowed Link to quickly glide out of harm's way.

Fellow Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players believe the Bokoblin's weapon swing may have caused Link to be blown away while using the glider. Some claim to have replicated this glider trick multiple times after this discovery, while others can't seem to consistently activate the glider after backflipping away from an enemy. Further practice may be needed to help players regularly pull this trick off in combat.

The glider was one of the most useful items in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the same sentiment is shared in Tears of the Kingdom. In this case, the glider may be helpful in combat during early portions of the game due to Link's lack of hearts. A single attack from a Bokoblin weapon may hurt Link greatly, so this glider trick could be a boon for those exploring Hyrule and attempting to gain stronger equipment.

Over 10 million Nintendo Switch gamers are currently uncovering what Tears of the Kingdom has to offer. As the sequel to Breath of the Wild, the game is large enough to keep players coming back for more in the weeks and months after launch.
