A creative Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player managed to build a gigantic ramp by duplicating a common item found in shrines. After building the impressive ramp, the player then fused a cart to their shield and skateboarded all the way to the bottom, making this stunt the first public video of its kind for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link was able to “shield surf” for a short period of time by jumping, then placing his equipped shield under his feet. Link could use this tactic to travel quickly down a mountain or slope. Today, Link can make a skateboard in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by fusing a cart, minecart, or homing cart to his equipped shield. This makeshift skateboard can be used to travel down any slope or across most rails in the game. One Tears of the Kingdom player took the word “skateboard” literally and built a massive ramp down a mountain.

In a recent video posted to Reddit, a Tears of the Kingdom player can be seen skating down the humongous ramp, using the Ravio mask as a helmet of sorts. The ramp itself puts Tears of the Kingdom’s Fuse ability to the limit, fusing over 20 stone slabs together. On his way down the ramp, Link hits every little bump and even gets stuck for a few seconds at one point. Before reaching the bottom, Link’s cart shield breaks, making him ragdoll down the final stretch.

Making a ramp this big is no easy task, and it’s impressive that the Nintendo Switch can handle such a drain in RAM with its older hardware. The slabs themselves can be found in multiple shrines found throughout Hyrule and fusing them all requires the Autobuild ability, with a lot of patience and skill. According to the original poster, the ramp itself only cost 72 pieces of Zonite, with each individual slab costing three.

Now that this video exists, there will most likely be other players who attempt the same stunt. One tip repeated throughout the comment section is for the player to overlap the slabs so that the upper plates are on top of the lower ones, similar to shingles on a rooftop. To avoid wiping out at the bottom of the ramp like in this video, the player can try fusing a cart to the Hylian Sheild, which is the strongest shield in Tears of the Kingdom. That way, the skateboard will have enough durability to make it to the bottom of the ramp.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
