A Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has used Link’s new Ultrahand ability build the ultimate flying death machine to help in the fight to save Hyrule. The highly anticipated follow-up to 2017’s blockbuster hit The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally launched on the Nintendo Switch late last week, and fans have since been diving into the game’s open world to see everything Link’s newest adventure has to offer. So far, Tears of the Kingdom has been met with strong sales and near-universal acclaim, with many considering it more than a step above the already console-defining previous game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has built on Breath of the Wild’s sandbox formula in many ways, such as giving main protagonist Link a handful of unlockable new abilities to use in his quest to defeat the newly-risen Ganondorf and save the land of Hyrule once more. The most noteworthy of these new skills are Ultrahand and Fuse, which allow Link to combine various items to create new tools, weapons, and even vehicles. Naturally, a player can spend hours fooling around with these incredible powers, and there seems to be no limit to what players can do with them.

A prime example of this comes from Reddit user SkysOutThighsOut, who recently shared a clip of their latest invention on Reddit earlier this week. By harvesting Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s volatile Zonaite from Hyrule’s various mines and caves and combining it with various wood planks and large fans, SkysOutThighsOut managed to construct what could best be described as a helicopter-like vehicle that fires green balls of energy at all that come in its path. This homemade death machine’s destructive power is then demonstrated with an all-out assault on an enemy camp, appropriately set to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Fortunate Son.

In addition to letting players build their battle vehicles to even up the score against Ganondorf's forces, many have praised Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s new Fuse ability as a way of correcting Breath of the Wild’s divisive weapon durability mechanic by giving them more options to experiment with. Some players have also used Fuse in more mischievous ways, such as crucifying Korok in revenge for Breath of the Wild’s much-disliked Korok Seed quest.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has only been out for a few days as of this writing, so there will likely be more incredible examples of players using the game’s new Ultrahand and Fuse skills to craft new tools, vehicles, and structures. For now though, SkysOutThighsOut's custom hovercraft is a marvel to behold and might be extremely useful in navigating the open world of Hyrule - and taking out any foes or monsters Link might encounter on his latest journey.
