Since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's launch, players have found multiple ways to duplicate inventory items, and this latest one is easier than ever. Nintendo has been very generous with the patches in order to combat these glitches, but to no avail.

Warning: The following contain light spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is less than a month old, yet its rapidly-growing install base has already managed to dissect nearly every aspect of it. The current speedrun record is 59 minutes, and countless players have found ways to cheese the game's boss fights and dungeons or simply navigate the world map in hilarious ways. Most prominently is an ongoing pattern of players duplicating the items in their inventory, allowing them to stockpile whatever they need without having to hunt for it. The exact method changes each time, but it usually involves a lot of pausing and menu selection while holding the desired items to clone.

In a video posted by Gaming Reinvented, Link is shown visiting Tobio's Hollow Chasm (a pathway to the Depths that is inaccessible until very late into Tears of the Kingdom's story), but instead of diving into the Gloom-infested grotto, he instead stands near the slope. To do this right, the player needs to have a multi-shot bow in their possession, fusing their material of choice to their arrow. One must then aim their shot at the tip of the stalactite just ahead, causing the fused item to duplicate and freeze in midair, although the arrows will disappear completely.

Running towards the suspended items will cause them to fall, so the player must be quick to grab them before they roll into the abyss, although they can optionally place obstacles to stop this from happening. Given the crazy vehicles players have been able to craft, finding a way to catch the cloned items before Link can reach them shouldn't be too challenging. It is also worth noting that while this glitch allows the player to nab up to four of the same material, it only comes at the cost of one. All multi-shot bows (some launch up to five arrows at once) only consume one arrow and one piece of material at a time.

It can only be a matter of time before Nintendo puts its foot down and patches this exploit out of the game as well. It didn't hesitate to address a different glitch via a Day 1 update, and the game is already on Version 1.1.2 after under a month on the market. Not to mention the developers explicitly stated how parts of the game were constructed as a result of what fans said and did regarding Breath of the Wild.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
