A Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has put together a drivable caterpillar that's impressing other fans. The build is just the latest in the zany list of creations that Tears of the Kingdom players have built since the title's release.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom built upon Breath of the Wild's legacy, keeping a number of elements and traits that made the first game great, while adding new abilities and features that complement them. Through Link's Ultrahand ability, players can build just about anything they can think of by combining objects found all over the world. This has led to players building incredibly fine-tuned, powerful, or fast vehicles, but also some weird things, too.

Reddit user and prolific Tears of the Kingdom vehicle designer kmarkow has shared their latest creation, this time making a modified caterpillar bike. They uploaded a brief video of Link driving the vehicle around, which they say handles terribly, but they did their best to control it and make it look natural. The individual segments of the caterpillar can move somewhat independently thanks to some cooking pots, which add to the realism of it being a bug, but probably takes away from the ease of use.

Building Ultrahand Vehicles in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

According to a post highlighting a prior version of the build, the caterpillar bike appears to use 8 Silver Horriblin Horn , 5 bowls, 2 small wheels, 1 stabilizer, and 1 steering stick. Fans in the comments have complimented kmarkow on their creative design and use of different parts. Several are calling for the creator to make more bug-based vehicles, and they've responded that they're already collecting parts to make more "buggies." Another compared it to a Wiggler from Super Mario, which it does bear a strong resemblance to.

This particular fan is no stranger to building Zelda vehicles, as they've made several in the past. The fan has come up with everything from practical to fantastical designs, likely leading to them having the skill and understanding of the Ultrahand system to make a vehicle like this one.

For now, it remains to be seen if the next Zelda game will lead to bizarre creations of its own. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom equips Zelda with a unique rod that allows her to replicate items and some enemies. While it doesn't seem as extensive as the Ultrahand system, it's possible that players may end up finding ways to duplicate and combine items to build unique things in that game, too.
