Tears of the Kingdom features a wide array of enemies that players will soon learn are sometimes a lot tougher than they look. Finding powerful weapons in the game can be quite difficult, and players may be left with a less-than-impressive arsenal of weapons for taking down their foes.

Luckily, players can cook certain recipes to increase their attack power in Tears of the Kingdom. These recipes make it far easier to take down some of the more challenging enemies in the game, or perhaps to clear out a cave full of monsters. However, with so many ingredients and recipes, it can be hard to know what dishes are best. Players who are looking for the best recipes to boost Link's attack can find some here.

Check out these additional recipes for increasing Link's attack in Tears of the Kingdom. Fret not — we've included the ingredients for each recipe so players can properly meal prep for any dungeon or giant monster encounter.

15 Fish Pie

Major Health Recovery, +1 Attack Up

Ingredients

  • Mighty Carp or Mighty Porgy
  • Tabantha Wheat
  • Goat Butter
  • Rock Sal

Finding fish isn't exactly the easiest job in Tears of the Kingdom. Players will have to rely on their own swiftness rather than utilizing a fishing rod. However, the general store in Zora's Domain is a great place to source Mighty Carp, although the much rarer Mighty Porgy will have to be found in the wild near the Faron and Necluda Seas. Either or will work for this recipe.

Combined with Tabantha Wheat, Goat Butter, and Rock Salt, the Fish Pie is a great source of health recovery while also providing a decent attack boost. For an even better attack buff, it can be supplemented with an extra Mighty Carp/Porgy or another Attack Up item, like Mighty Bananas — or a Razorclaw Crab to keep the seafood theme.

14 Meaty Rice Balls

Major Health Recovery, +1 Attack Up

Ingredients

  • Any Meat
  • Hylian Rice
  • Mighty Bananas or Razorshrooms or Mighty Thistle

Meaty Rice Balls are a simple and efficient recipe with a lot of benefits for health recovery. In addition to a meal that will recover a minimum of 8 hearts (depending on the type of meat used), players can get creative by adding in ingredients like Razorshrooms or Mighty Thistle, giving it an extra edge by boosting Link's attack for a limited time.

What's especially great about this recipe is how economical it is. With one slab of meat and one Hylian Rice, players can add up to three more ingredients, offering a huge boost in attack. To increase how long the bonus lasts, a second Hylian Rice can also be thrown in there. If players divvy out their ingredients correctly, they can wind up with an inventory stock of Meaty Rice Balls.

13 Meat Curry

Good Health Recovery, +1 Attack Up

Link holding an armful of Raw Meat in the inventory of TOTK

Ingredients

  • Raw Meat
  • Hylian Rice
  • Goron Spice
  • Mighty Bananas or Razorshrooms or Mighty Thistle

Meat Curry is slightly more complicated than the previous recipe, requiring another specific ingredient: Goron Spice. This rare ingredient cannot be found in the wild, as it's only available for purchase in the Goron City general shop. If players accrue enough Goron Spice, they can go wild making Meat Curry.

For Mighty Meat Curry, players will have to spend their final two slots on ingredients like Mighty Bananas, Razorshrooms, or Mighty Thistles. While there aren't many slots open for a huge Attack boost, the added Goron Spice will give the effect's duration a boost to make up for it. Throwing in a second Goron Spice will only make it an even longer Attack Up effect!

12 Mushroom Skewer

Good Health Recovery, +3 Attack Up

A Mighty Mushroom Skewer in TOTK

Ingredients

  • Razorshrooms

Mushroom Skewers are pretty common recipes to make in Tears of the Kingdom, only requiring any number or combination of mushrooms in a cooking pot. However, players can really take advantage of this by mixing and matching only Razorshrooms, giving themselves a massive attack boost if they have five of them.

Although Razorshrooms may be difficult to come by in Hyrule, some players who have spent time exploring Tanager Canyon will likely come across a plethora if they keep their eyes open. Creating a surplus of Mighty Mushroom Skewers after a trip to Tanager Canyon is the perfect way to stock up on some easy, reliable recipes that boost Link's attack.

11 Mighty Elixir

+1 Attack Up

Ingredients

  • Bladed Rhino Beetle
  • Monster Parts

Of course, it may sometimes feel like a waste for players who need a quick attack boost before a big boss battle but are already at full health. That's where elixirs will do the trick; rather than restore health, these items will only give food bonuses to players, which will especially come in handy for players getting ready for a difficult section of the game.

They have some of the most potent effects, and can seriously help boost Link's attack to turn him into a seriously notorious foe. However, Mighty Porgies and Mighty Carps are the only fish that provide this Attack bonus.

Once the player has their hands on these fish, they can start making some Tomato Seafood Soup. This is a relatively simple recipe, only requiring a Hylian Tomato, and one to four Mighty Porgies/Carps. This recipe will then provide Link with a lovely maxed Attack boost, making it the perfect meal to cook before a big boss battle.
