During Nintendo's latest Direct presentation, fans got a new in-depth look at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but this latest trailer lent itself to some surprising comparisons to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, with Rare now reacting to the situation. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gave fans some new story beats and gameplay, among which were some newly-constructed air and ground vehicles. Details regarding them are scarce, but they notably share the same colors as Link's new arm. New vehicles in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is certainly exciting, but their design and general vibe brought Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (and its vehicles) to the mind of many fans. There were several altered images putting the Nuts and Bolts logo on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and general remarks, quickly becoming a meme online. The meme will likely die down as comparisons do, but Rare didn't let the moment pass by without its input.RELATED: Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Reveals Collector's Edition and Link AmiiboOn Rare's official Twitter account, it shared an image of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts depicting the titular duo on an air vehicle, immediately bringing Link's new air vehicle to mind. The text reminds fans that the game is available via Rare Replay, Xbox Game Pass, and backward compatibility, but the account claims that it "just felt compelled to remind everyone, that's all. Not prompted by anything in particular," of course meaning it was prompted by the online comparisons. Just as Rare saw fit to have fun with the comparisons, so did fans.

One of the comments on the post says that Rare "brought tears to [their] kingdom," while others funnily acknowledged that nothing prompted the tweet with "winks" and GIFs. Others were just glad they weren't the only ones seeing the comparisons, but at this point, many fans of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom have likely seen the similarities. It's worth a good laugh, if nothing else.

Ahead of the Direct, many were worried about potential delays to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but that seems much less likely now. It's not impossible, but given it was the strong showcase ender for the event, it seems like it'll be smooth sailing via air vehicle toward its May release date.
