Few other gaming franchises can claim to have the longevity and influence of The Legend of Zelda. With the first franchise installment releasing in 1986, The Legend of Zelda now has over a dozen games published, and is one of the most recognizable video game franchises of all time. This has led its community of fans to create some truly impressive tributes to the iconic gaming series.

Given how old The Legend of Zelda is as a franchise and considering how many games it spans across, a wide variety of different fan creations have surfaced as a result. From fan art and cosplay, to handcrafted weaponry, one fan even made a Zelda themed aquarium featuring the Moon from Majora's Mask. Though, one gifted individual has gone a step further and made a rather practical Zelda themed creation.

Over on TikTok, a user by the name of zabacards made hard plastic replicas of the Master Sword and the Hylian Shield, both of which are iconic items from The Legend of Zelda. However, the sword and shield actually serve an ulterior purpose. As demonstrated in the TikTok video, the sword and shield can be used to store Nintendo Switch cartridges.

Nintendo Switch cartridges are quite small and can be easily lost, which has led to the production of a lot of carrying cases. Many of them are officially licensed and themed after various Nintendo IPs, but what zabacards has made is in a league of its own. To have a carrying case for Switch cartridges in the shape of two of the most iconic gaming weapons of all time is remarkable.

It's amazing to see how much the Zelda community has revitalized itself within recent years. With the release of Breath of the Wild, it's brought in a ton of new fans, which has led to new fan creations surfacing online. Although, in terms of practicality, having a Switch cartridge carrying case in the shape of the Master Sword is quite unique in that regard.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds in terms of Zelda. The Nintendo Switch port of Skyward Sword will release later this month, but there still hasn't been much of an update in terms of when Breath of the Wild 2 will release. The newest E3 2021 trailer revealed that the game had been pushed back to 2022, but in terms of what was shown, it seems like there's a lot in store for fans of The Legend of Zelda. With any luck, more information will be revealed in the coming months.
