A creative The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player has created a mod that adds Miraidon from Pokemon Violet. Being widely popular Nintendo franchises, both The Legend of Zelda and Pokemon share an immensely creative fanbase that constantly has projects that crossover and bring pieces of both worlds to the games.

Modding Nintendo titles is nothing new, and the pastime has a dedicated community that creates a wide variety of mods that range from making the games more challenging to adding aspects such as split-screen to even wholly changing the overworld. Just last year, one modder made Breath of the Wild into a multiplayer game, which brought to mind the classic Game Boy Advance title Four Swords. On the Pokemon side of things, one such dedicated gamer created PokemonUnlimited, a mod for Pokemon Legends: Arceus that not only added fully explorable maps of the regions from the other games but also all the Pokemon and respective forms found there.

One gamer, going by the handle dekgear, took to the Pokemon subreddit to share with other fans photos of their modded The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game that shows the legendary Miraidon from Pokemon Violet. The various screenshots highlight various features of the pocket monster, including how it looks with the headlight and performing tricks such as a wheely, which is not possible for its counterpart in Pokemon Violet. One of dekgear’s screenshots also shows that Miraidon stops glowing when it is out of fuel and regains the Pokemon’s signature yellow sides when full.

While there is no confirmation, it can be assumed that dekgear modified the Master Cycle Zero, a Sheikah motorcycle that was added to Breath of the Wild through the Champions’ Ballad DLC. As for Miraidon, the Legendary Paradox Pokemon was introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the ninth generation of the games, which has its own recently released DLC The Teal Mask, where players can explore a whole new region called Kitakami.

With no planned DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom or even a follow-up game on the horizon, modding the games for replayability will become more widespread. However, gamers should cautiously proceed as Nintendo is known for not liking its terms and services being broken. Breath of the Wild has been out for a few years now, and despite Tears of the Kingdom being an incredible sequel that improves virtually everything, the game still holds a special place in gamers’ hearts as it is the original that introduced them to that world.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available for Nintendo Switch.
