As players first wander through the Great Plateau in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, odds are that they will come across their first Korok and be handed a Korok seed. This will be the first of a total of 900 Korok seeds spread throughout the map of Hyrule. Before diving into the sequel to Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, players may want to close this chapter by gathering any Korok seeds they might be missing. This guide will provide players with useful tips that will help them spot Korok seeds faster.

Korok seeds are mostly useful for inventory expansion, but this might not be a priority right away. It is likely that before actively looking for Korok seeds, gamers will have already gathered a few. This means that they will start to understand where Koroks usually hide and where they should investigate to try to find them.

There are several ways to uncover a Korok's location, and by exploring Hyrule and taking note of their strategies, players will much more easily identify another similar hiding spot later on. Koroks enjoy hiding under rocks, large metal structures, underneath leaf piles, and in fruit trees, but they can also only appear after Link solves a targeting puzzle, follows a flower trail, or wins a race on a timer.

Find The Korok Mask

Players that own the Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass will have access to the content included with The Master Trials DLC. This includes a Korok Mask that will shake whenever a Korok is nearby. Although it may seem like it's not all that help, that's only the case for obvious Korok hiding places. There are certain Koroks on the map that are particularly well-hidden and are quite easy to miss.

It's quite helpful to acquire the mask before fully exploring the world; this way players will wear the mask as early as possible which assures them that they won't simply pass by and leave a Korok seed unnoticed. Unfortunately, the mask only provides 1 Defense and cannot be upgraded at Great Fairy Fountains.

The Korok Mask can be obtained by completing the EX Strange Mask Rumors quest, obtained at the Woodland Stable.

Use Hero's Path Mode

The Hero's Path Mode is another Breath of the Wild feature included with The Master Trials DLC pack; it allows players to track Link's whereabouts throughout the last 200 hours of gameplay. It's a great exploration tool and a big help for completionists that want to acquire all 900 Korok seeds but aren't sure which places they might've missed.

The Hero's Path feature can be accessed by opening the map in Breath of the Wild.

Explore The Map In Sections

The Breath of the Wild map is huge, and it's got a few different regions that players can access. Instead of trying to find Koroks by aimlessly wandering around, gamers should focus on a specific region and only move on to the next one once they've fully explored it. Once again, the Hero's Path Mode comes in quite handy.

Interactive Breath of the Wild maps are also a great way to keep track of the Korok seeds that Link has come across - especially if all filters are removed except for Korok seeds. If the player opens their map and zooms in as much as possible, a Korok seed marker will appear if it's been found. Then, with a lot of patience, they can start to compare the two maps.

If players access their inventory, they will only be able to know how many Korok seeds they have on them at that moment, and if they've spoken to Hestu and exchanged them for inventory slots, they won't be able to know how many they've already collected. To check out how many Korok seeds have been obtained during a playthrough, gamers should access the loading screen by reentering the game or fast traveling somewhere. In the top right corner, some stats will appear, including the number of Korok seeds obtained so far .

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
