Soon, fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will have two more Amiibo figures to collect, as Nintendo pulled back the curtain on which ones are coming down the pipeline next. While no other Tears of the Kingdom news was shown during the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo thanked fans for the game's overwhelming success.

Similar to how they functioned in Breath of the Wild, Amiibo figures can be scanned in Tears of the Kingdom to reward Link with various items. By using the Amiibo ability, Link's arm will glow white and players are prompted to tap an Amiibo figure on the Right Joy-Con or the middle of a Switch Pro Controller to scan it. While most figures outside of The Legend of Zelda series will only give Link a few ingredients at a time, figures from the series can give Link a treasure chest once per day that can contain a new weapon, a piece of armor, or a new paraglider appearance. Soon, Tears of the Kingdom players will have two more figures to add to their collections.

Following the release of the Link Amiibo for Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo announced figures for Zelda and Ganondorf in their respective attires from the game. However, fans will have to wait a while for the figures to be released, as they won't arrive until later this holiday season. While it is currently not known what rewards these Amiibo will offer to players that scan them, a recent datamine showed some new paragliders that looked similar to Zelda's and Ganondorf's designs from Tears of the Kingdom. Only time will tell if these Amiibo will reward those respective paragliders or if they will offer different rewards than previous figures.

With the impending release of the Tears of the Kingdom Zelda and Ganondorf Amiibo figures, the game by itself will have three figures and the Zelda series will have 28 total Amiibo figures. Given the popularity of both characters, particularly Ganondorf's current design, both Amiibo figures are expected to sell quickly upon release this holiday season. Pricing and preorder details will come at a later date.

While the news of more Amiibo figures may please some fans, Tears of the Kingdom players hoping to hear news of DLC were left out in the cold as Nintendo had nothing to share on that front. But with the game continuing to sell well, it is only a matter of time before Nintendo pulls back the curtain on what lies ahead.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
