Warner Bros. has yet to announced an official release date for the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League, but the filmmaker himself has indicated when fans can expect to see his version of the DC film. In a social media post, Snyder revealed his edition of Justice League will be available on HBO Max in March 2021.

After a personal family tragedy, Snyder stepped away from directorial duties on Justice League while the project was in the post-production phase. Warner Bros. subsequently brought Avengers director Joss Whedon on board to see the DC film through to its November 2017 release and later tasked him with overseeing extensive reshoots that significantly altered Snyder's original vision.  Roughly three years after Justice League debuted to mixed reviews and underwhelming box office numbers, Snyder announced his version of the film will be released on HBO Max in 2021 following reshoots to complete his unfinished work.

Before being combined into a single four-hour film, Warner Bros. plans to release Zack Snyder's Justice League as a miniseries consisting of four hour-long entries. While a release schedule for each installment has not been announced at this time, Snyder suggested that at least the first entry will be available on HBO Max by March 2021 when responding to a fan's comment on Vero. "I understand and of course respect your feelings and I just hope I can wipe that Version out of existence with what you see in March," Snyder wrote. The director's comment arrives just weeks after WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar noted the new version of Justice League will be released a few months from early December.

In order to release the film as he originally intended and to accommodate the four-part structure, Snyder will shoot additional sequences for his edition of Justice League. Actors involved in these reshoots include Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, Amber Heard, Joe Manganiello, and Jared Leto as the Joker, the last of whom was not featured in Whedon's cut of the film at all. Furthermore, Snyder has stated that he does not intend to include any of the additional footage shot exclusively by Whedon in his cut of the DC film.

The release of Snyder's Justice League is seen as a win by those who petitioned Warner Bros. to allow him to complete his work on the film. However, there is also a stronger desire among certain fans to leave the theatrical version of the film behind in the wake of the accusations made against Whedon.

Ray Fisher, who portrayed Cyborg in Justice League, accused Whedon of abusive behavior during the reshoots and later alleged that executives at Warner Bros. had engaged in racist conversations. Fisher's claims prompted WarnerMedia to launch an investigation that recently concluded with "remedial action" being taken.
