Video games are more than just a way to leisurely pass the time for many people, as the competitive video game scene grows more and more with each passing day. Halo 2 is no different, and many people have competed with one another over the years to overcome different challenges in Bungie's classic 2004 installment in the Halo franchise.

One such challenge, however, is entirely unique in that it could go down in history as the most difficult challenge in all of FPS history. The challenge is to complete a Halo 2 LASO run, which means legendary difficulty with all Skulls turned on, except the Envy Skull, and to do it without dying. For those that are unfamiliar, Skulls are Halo 2's topic-based difficulty modifiers that each, in turn, make the game more difficult in some specific way, and the Envy Skull grants Master Chief invisibility, which is an advantage and also why the challenge requires it to be turned off.

There have been many unique and exciting challenges on Twitch over the years, but this Halo 2 challenge is proving to be very difficult. Popular YouTuber Charlie "Cr1tikal" White is the one that originally published the challenge on his YouTube page a few weeks ago, and since then, he has been watching, to no avail, to see if anyone is able to complete the challenge. None of the runners that have attempted this challenge on Twitch has made it past the second level and only four runners have made it past the first level. So, in an attempt to incentivize players even further, Charlie has increased the bounty from his original $5,000 to a huge sum of $20,000 to whichever runner is able to successfully complete the run. See below for Charlie's full bounty video.

Halo 2 has been out for 18 years, and so has this challenge. For 18 years, players have been trying to accomplish this challenge, and none have even come close. Charlie remarks that players have the choice to either do this on the classic Halo 2 for Xbox, or to do it in the Anniversary version included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. However, he does say that it is much more difficult to do the latter because of higher tick rate, meaning enemies shoot more frequently, giving players less time to react.

Fan-made challenges in video games are a wonderful way to bring the community together and to add a layer of difficulty to a game that players have been playing for a long time. Of course, most of these challenges are extremely difficult to accomplish, but Halo 2's legendary all-skulls deathless run seems to be the most difficult of all.

Charlie reviews the rules of the challenge very clearly in his video: the run must be solo-streamed on either Twitch or YouTube with all Skulls turned on except for Envy. It must be a Halo 2 legendary difficulty run that is completed deathless from start to finish without the aid of any mods or cheats. Players can look forward to a handsome $20,000 reward upon completing this challenge.

Halo 2 is available to play on PC, Xbox, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
