YouTube content creator and streamer Addison Pierre Maalouf, popularly known as YourFellowArab, has been kidnapped for ransom in Haiti. The YouTube star is known for covering various topics in America and other countries.

Earlier this month, YourFellowArab, or Arab for short, tweeted that he was going on a trip to an unspecified location, implying that there's a possibility that he would be endangering his life. Visiting a foreign country to shoot videos isn't uncommon. After a couple of weeks, news outlets and streamers close to Arab, like Lalem, confirmed that the YouTuber had been taken hostage by a gang in Haiti for over two weeks now.

According to a Haiti24 report translated by Dexerto, Arab and his companion were seized by the 400 Mawozo gang, the largest active criminal group in Haiti. The gang is also demanding a $600,000 ransom to release the two hostages, with $40,000 reportedly already paid. As of writing, both the US and Haitian governments have yet to address the matter.

​​​​A number of Arab's friends and colleagues have come out with information about his Haiti trip. Twitch streamer Miles Routledge shared the last conversation he had with Arab, where the YouTuber revealed that he was interviewing Barbecue, the leader of 400 Mawozo, "if I don't get kidnapped by then." Arab's video editor masih also shared the last footage the YouTuber sent to him, where he talks about the risks of going to Port-au-Prince at night. Other personalities like YouTube creator IShowSpeed, who was part of Arab's kidnapping prank in Brazil, and Rumble streamer Sneako, have also expressed their concern over Arab's well-being.

The YourFellowArab fanbase was also shocked by the news, with many praying for the YouTuber's safety. Some, however, seem to think that it's a joke or prank for Arab's upcoming video. Meanwhile, Kick CEO and streamer Adin Ross has also called for fellow content creators to band together to help pay off the hefty ransom and free Arab.
