Yellowjackets was a surprise hit that seemingly came out of nowhere. The show flashes back and forth between the present and past. Back in the '90s, a soccer team's plane crashes on the way to a tournament. In the present, a few survivors are shown dealing with their traumatic pasts.
What exactly happened in the woods? What girls survived? Is there magic in this show or is it more grounded? Everything fans of Yellowjackets thought they knew before the finale might have been turned sideways. Season two has been confirmed, which may come out toward the end of 2022 if not early 2023. While fans wait, it’s a good idea to think about the questions season two should and might answer.

7 Is Jackie Truly Dead?
Fans of Yellowjackets knew that Jackie died early on in the season. It was clear the way Shauna and everyone else acted. The big mystery was how did she die? Based on one of the earliest flashbacks, fans might have assumed she was eaten.
That still may be the case. If Jackie is dead, it is safe to assume someone is going to argue that the team should eat her. This may cause a rift in the group, splitting the girls in two. However, Jackie may not be dead yet. She is shown frozen in the finale, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she died.
6 Lottie’s Cult
Another assumption fans may have thought was that there were only a handful of survivors from the plane crash left in the present. Those would be Natalie, Taissa, Shauna, Misty, and Travis until he was killed. The very last scene of the show made it sound like Lottie was still alive.
This brings up a lot of questions. One, if Lottie is alive then who else is around? Two, why did her cultist followers capture Natalie? Three, were her visions in the past mystical? The bottom line is this. Does this show have magic in it? That’s the biggest mystery of them all.
5 Will Adam Get Connected Back To Shauna?
Adam was a red herring to most viewers in Yellowjackets. Why did he appear out of nowhere? Why was he so interested in Shauna? Why was he skulking around her place? The list of mysteries regarding him goes on. This was all to throw fans off the ascent of the true blackmailer in season one: Jeff.
This might have come as a huge shock, although some viewers may have figured it out. Adam's disappearances for “inventory” meetings were a big clue. Well, Shauna was convinced Adam was behind it, leading to his death. It seems like the girls were able to dispose of Adam discretely but who knows if someone saw them or not. One thing is for sure, Adam will come up again in season two one way or another.
4 Is Jessica Dead Or Will She Be Saved?
Jackie is not the only character in a state of limbo right now in Yellowjackets. After Misty let Jessica go, she crashed her car. It turns out Misty wasn’t as dumb as she was acting. Even though Jessica took a lethal dose of poison in her cigarette, that doesn’t mean she won’t be found before she can be saved.
Jessica's testimony could spell big trouble for Misty and the others. There’s another mystery surrounding Jessica though. She claimed to be a reporter at first but by the end, she admitted she was a hired cleaner. She wanted to sweep information under the rug. Who was she working for though? Was it Lottie or someone else?
3 Who Killed Travis?
Did Travis kill himself or was he murdered? Natalie was under the impression this entire season that someone must have killed him. She said they made a pact to never commit suicide. That doesn’t mean he didn’t do it, but Natalie was convinced otherwise.
By the end of season one, it looked like Natalie had seemingly given up. It didn’t matter if Travis committed suicide or not, and Natalie thought the answers were going to elude her forever. So, she almost took her own life to take the pain away. Lottie’s goons prevented her suicide but at what cost? Was Lottie behind Travis’ death or is there someone else at play here in Yellowjackets?
2 What Happened With The Girls In The Forest?
There are a lot of unanswered questions in Yellowjackets regarding what happened to the kids in the forest. It seems like they turned to cannibalism in their means of survival. That is horrific enough, but there has to be something more to it though. This could involve magic as a lot of weird things did happen in season one.
They could be coincidences or something more sinister. As it was asked earlier, who survived the ordeal? Are there more out there than just the main four and now Lottie? The answers to these questions could blow the doors wide open for theorists out there.
1 Taissa’s Secret Alter
What exactly is going on with Taissa? She was shown to have visions in the forest as a teenager. Then it came out that she was still having visions and black-out sessions as an adult. The mysterious stranger that her son was seeing was Taissa in a state of trance.
Was Taissa dangerous? This was the big question that was somewhat answered when her wife found Taissa’s alter. Now, is Taissa truly unaware of her actions or is there something more to it? Again, magic could be involved, and she might have secret ties to Lottie. That’s one of many theories floating around out there for Yellowjackets.
