The community of Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 seems to have experienced a new surge in player activity, on both console and PC platforms. The game has recently been considered as one of the highest rated PlayStation 5 titles of 2020, and it seems like Devil May Cry 5’s PC player base continues to stay active through interesting user-generated content such as mods. One DMC5 fan even shared their recent modification which allows players to replace Nero with the two girls from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Pyra and Mythra.

Devil May Cry 5 first launched back in 2019 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and with the game hitting its third anniversary this year, most would expect a massive player drop off since its release. However, with the company sharing no news or announcements about any additional DLC, fans have turned to DMC 5 modders and content creators to keep their playthroughs of the game varied and interesting.

Created by ShiroeSora using a Xelandis model, and uploaded by Oreki48 on NexusMods, the “Pyra and Mythra (Xenoblade) Replace Nero” mod does exactly what its title says it does. The mod lets players switch out Devil May Cry 5's Nero with Pyra as they go through the main narrative. Fans will mostly play as Pyra, however, this changes once they have unlocked Nero’s unique Devil Trigger ability. Once they have access to Nero's Devil Trigger, they will be able to morph Pyra into Mythra whenever that specific ability is used in the game.

Using the mod will also install a Pyra and Mythra artwork as part of the loading screens in the game, which provides an immersive experience while going through Devil May Cry 5. The mod, however, does not have any voice modifications involved. So fans may feel a bit disoriented when they play as the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 ladies but hear Nero’s manly voice coming out of their mouths. With the download size only being 130.9MB, fans of both games will likely have an easy time installing and enjoying the features of the mod.

Many fans may be confused why the modders decided to implement the girls into Devil May Cry 5. But this is likely due to Pyra and Mythra recently creating online hype with their implementation into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the game's latest DLC characters. With many mod creators likely being fans of both titles, it was only a matter of time until one that put them into the world of Devil May Cry surfaced from the online community.

Devil May Cry 5 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
