At first, it's not quite clear what the coins are used for in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, especially as it is quite easy to miss the requirements of all the systems and intricacies at play in the game. Players will start obtaining Nopon Coins from the first chapter, but their value and uses vary.

Nopon Coins Uses In Xenoblade Chronicles 3

There are gold and silver coins to obtain in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. They can be used to complete Collectopaedia Cards, cook recipes, craft gems without the necessary materials, or for quests.

One can even increase a character's rank without fighting. While silver coins are more commonplace in Xenoblade 3's world, the gold coins are more valuable and a little harder to come by. Gold Nopon Coins will be needed to craft the higher-level gems in Xenoblade 3.

In chapter one, players will notice that they can collect Nopon Coins from the yellow containers found all over the open-world in Xenoblade 3. These containers are generally found all over the map and are highlighted by a yellow container marker on the minimap.

In addition, they can be found in hidden places inside the Colonies of Xenoblade 3. As a result, it's always worth exploring every corner or out of reach spots. It's usually the hidden containers that have the best rewards in Nopon Coins.

Completing Quests

Certain quests will only become available at night, so it's always a good idea to play around with Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Time Skip mechanic when inside Colonies. Moreoever, some side quests will only become available after completing the main quests first.

Defeating Unique Monsters

In addition, these Unique Monsters will leave behind a Named Grave site and a Fast Travel marker on the map. Pressing A at the gravesite of the Unique Monster will trigger the battle again.

This is a great way to earn more EXP and other rewards. If the battles are wiping out the party every time, don't hesitate to lower the difficulty in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
