In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players can unlock several traversal skills that help the party get through certain areas. As players explore the vast open world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, they'll encounter stuff like purple vines and ziplines, which will not be accessible until certain skills are learned.

Traversal Skills are unlocked via different methods, and this guide will go over how to unlock the Scree Walking skill, so players can walk up sand dunes with ease to unlock new areas and reach containers for rare loot.

Starting the Going Beyond Power Hero Quest

To unlock the Scree Walking skill, players will need to start one of the Hero Quests in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 called 'Going Beyond Power.' To start it, players will need to have made it to Chapter 3 (or further).

The recommended player level for this Hero Quest is level 25, so if the party isn't up to snuff, it's best to start this quest later.

Head to the spot marked on the image below to find an NPC named Kyrie. There will be a question mark on the map, and players can find it north of Gura Flava Camp and southwest of Loch Ciel in the Aetia Region.

Colony Gamma

Once players meet up with Kyrie, they'll be led to Colony Gamma, where three of the party members -- Taion, Mio, and Sena -- used to live before joining Noah and the gang.

After following the quest steps and meeting the people in Colony Gamma, players will eventually need to leave the village with someone named Teach, who apparently has a "good place" to take the party.

Unlocking Scree Walking

After following Teach through the quest path, there will come a point where a cutscene will play out, and Teach will show the party how to climb up steep sand dunes. Players will finally inherit the Scree Walking Traversal Skill, allowing them to walk up slopes without sliding down.

From now on, players will be able to climb any sand dune they come across.

Finish off the quest steps to complete the Hero quest and unlock Teach as a Hero. This means that players can choose Teach as a class and use his moves and battle style.
