The world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a huge sprawling landscape filled with multiple sights and sounds for the player to lose themselves in. Players can explore the world at their leisure, although it isn't recommended to venture too far from the beaten path, thanks to many of the game's most powerful monsters.

Some of these monsters in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are gigantic, and one can only appreciate how big and scary they can be when getting up close. Sometimes it's necessary to implement a camera's zoom mechanics to get a better understanding of just how big these beasts are. Moreover, there are other times when using the camera control and zoom facility comes in handy in a tight spot when navigating caves and surrounded by enemies.

It's not that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has bad camera angles or functionality, but sometimes it is often a good idea to implement these camera control functions when needed. Using the zoom-in and zoom-out features can also help reveal Xenoblade 3's pathways and obstacles for hard-to-reach areas or items. Additionally, some players of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will prefer to customize and adjust the camera positioning to their liking.

Using Zoom in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Manually controlling the camera and zooming in and out of the scenery was also featured in Xenoblade Chronicles 3's predecessors. Thankfully, it's just as simple to do, even though the game doesn't actively teach its players how to do it.

  • With the ZL button pressed in, move the R Stick left or right to adjust the camera position.
  • This will lock the player on to their desired third-person viewpoint.

  • Press and hold the ZL button
  • With the ZL button pressed, move and hold the R Stick forward until the protagonist disappears.
  • Let go of the ZL button
  • Now, players can get a closer look at the world using a first-person view. The camera will pan out again during battles, but thanks to these simple but effective features, one can enjoy the game how they see fit.
