In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players will be tasked with fighting many different monsters and enemy faction soldiers. Throughout these tough battles, having the knowledge to fight properly by knowing when to defend, heal, and revive allies will be crucial for finding success. Sometimes enemies will still prove to be too powerful or have a mechanic that players may be unprepared for.

Although Xenoblade Chronicles 3 players have the option to flee battles, sometimes it cannot be performed in time and will result in a teammate dying. When a Tank or Healer falls in a party, players will usually be defeated in most scenarios. However, this guide will keep players prepared to revive and keep their teammates healed up.

How to Heal in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 combat

Healing Arts are used by healers to recover health. There are multiple variants of Healing Arts, such as AoE heals, regeneration HoT (Heals over Time), and even Heals from damage being dealt to enemies.

Players must take care when healing because it can't be done recklessly or without caution. Healing increases aggro gained by enemies, which will make Healers prime targets for the enemy. This means players have to ensure that they properly protect their Healers since they're vital to the success of most tough battles, especially involving bosses.

Players will have to make sure they have a Defender to hold aggro or even force the enemies to attack them so they can protect their allies and won't need to flee from battle. This also keeps Attackers protected so they can safely deal damage to take down whatever enemies are in a battle with them.

There are even other ways for players to make their heals even more effective, which will increase the odds of survival for the entire team. Throughout the game, since the map is so large, players will have to endure hundreds of battles to get through the game. Equipping gems like Lifebearer increases how much healing the Healers will heal themselves and their allies for.

Disperse Bloodlust will even help out with healing since it reduces the aggro that healing generates. This even relieves some stress from the Defenders, since players won't have to be as afraid to continually heal allies.

Healing Accessory

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

There's one additional method for increasing players' healing potential and that's itemization. Using an accessory such as Circlet of Intellect increases healing effects by a large percentage.

This becomes more and more useful the stronger the Healers become and the further players progress throughout the story. Mathematically, the higher the base values, the more is gained when dealing with percentages.

If Healers are healing allies for 400, simply having this item will push the heals to 480+ at minimum, which is a huge bonus of 80+ towards heals, thus increasing the player's survivability even higher.

Reviving Allies

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Reviving teammates will prove just as important as healing since players cannot heal a dead party member. Reviving cannot be done by Attackers or Defenders, only by Healers.

Players will need to go near the incapacitated ally and hold the A button for about 5-10 seconds, depending on the items and gems equipped. It's a lot easier said than done because Healers can be interrupted while attempting to revive an ally if they're hit by CC (Crowd Control).

Since Xenoblade Chronicles 3 takes a long time to beat, players will be able to practice a lot using these tactics. The team will have to work together to revive a downed ally; if the Healers are downed, players won't have any way to revive their allies.

Revival Accessory

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

There is an exception to the revive rule for Attackers and Defenders and that is the item called Memory Locket.

It's an accessory that can be purchased for 99 Nopon Coins and gives Attackers or Defenders the option to revive allies. This item can come in clutch in extremely tough battles and helps relieve some pressure from the Healers.

With revive capabilities being granted to all three classes, players will find it much easier to revive their party members and continue fighting.

Revival Gem

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

There are ways to help increase how fast allies will be revived such as using the Lifesaving Expertise gem. This gem can reduce the revive action duration by 20%; in difficult Xenoblade 3 battles, every second can be the difference between victory and defeat.

Having this equipped on a Healer, or even an Attacker or Defender using the Memory Locket, can come in handy in tough fights.

Revival Combo

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Lastly, players can even use accessories that will help allies shorten the cooldowns of their Arts by reviving party members.

Wing Necklace is a perfect example of this since it reduces the cooldown of Arts by 45%+ when reviving an ally. Although this doesn't directly help in regards to revival speed, it makes reviving allies even more worthwhile than usual.

Players can make sure they use the abilities with the longest cooldowns quickly before reviving an ally to kill two birds with one stone. This will provide opportunities for certain skill combinations that could not be accessed under normal circumstances without this item's effect.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is available for Nintendo Switch.
