There are well over 100 sidequests in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, meaning there are plenty of ways to keep busy outside the main story. Once players have reached a milestone per chapter, they should consider backtracking to earlier regions and see if there's anything new. For example, Colony 9 may have something for Noah and friends after they've learned a certain Party Skill.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Standard Quest Forgotten Supplies is simple, but it can be difficult if players are under leveled. Furthermore, there's a Hero Quest that needs doing before Forgotten Supplies becomes available. Although the quest calls for a team at level 28, it won't hurt for players to level up to 30+ before tracking down the Supplies for Colony 9.

How to Unlock and Complete Forgotten Supplies

There are several prerequisites to getting Forgotten Supplies. Players should have done the following in order for it to become available:

  1. Complete Chapter 2 and recruit Silvercoat Ethel in Chapter 3.
  2. Eavesdrop on one of the conversations around Colony 4 to get the topic Colony 9 Lately, and discuss this at a Canteen/Barracks or Camp.
  3. Head to the question mark near the Alfeto Valley Mouth Landmark. There, players will meet Zeon and start the Hero Quest Where The Heart Is.
  4. After completing Zeon's Hero Quest, listen to the residents of Colony 9 to get the Colony 9's Situation topic. Discuss this to formally start Forgotten Supplies (recommended level: 28).

If players haven't already, they'll need to unlock the Wall Climbing Party Skill. They can get this by completing Valdi's Hero Quest: The Kind Right-Hand. Valdi himself is encountered at the Ribbi Flats in Chapter 3. Without this Party Skill, it won't be possible to work on the Forgotten Supplies Standard Quest.

The supply box can be found at Murmur Rise, which is in the middle of the Aetia Region. As long as players have the Wall Climb Skill, they'll be able to complete the quest.

  1. Fast-Travel to the Kamos Guidepost Landmark.
  2. Climb up the purple vines north of the guidepost.
  3. (refer to the image above; follow the yellow line) Go around from the right-side, and to the lake. There's also a Soldier's Husk nearby, so make sure to have Noah or Mio play for them.
  4. Past the lake, players can either continue left, or they can go right. To the left are Kevesi soldiers, and to the right are regular monsters as well as the Altruistic Maribel Unique Monster. The Kevesi soldiers are around level 27-29, and the Unique Monster is at level 29. Players looking to avoid fighting the Kevesi soldiers can take the right path, but they'll have to be careful not to draw the Altruistic Maribel's attention.
    1. Left path (Yellow line): Defeat the Kevesi soldiers, and keep heading straight.
    2. Right path (Green line): Go up the hill and steer clear of the Unique Monster. Drop down into the lake, then continue to the Supply Drop.
  5. Approach the supplies and a fight will trigger between three level 28 Troll Grebels.

In the chance players have beaten the Altruistic Maribel before starting Forgotten Supplies, they can simply fast-travel to its grave at Murmur Rise to save time. However, know that this requires the Wall Climb Skill and having defeated the level 29 Unique Monster, which is easier to do if players are at a higher level.

Should You Hand Over Supplies?

Unfortunately, defeating the Grebels isn't enough to complete the quest. Trish's team from Colony 9 will approach Noah and the others, demanding they hand over the supplies. Players will have two ways to reply, and unlike some quests, the decision here does have a small influence:

  1. Discuss the matter: Eastman will see Noah's hesitance as a challenge, leading to a fight against all 5 members of Trish's team (each at level 28). Defeating them nets a few Collectibles (Kevesi Dog Tags).
  2. Hand it over: Players won't have to fight Trish's Team, and they'll receive the Consolation Prize key item as thanks. Since it's a key item, the Consolation Prize doesn't have any use in-battle, meaning it can't be equipped as an Accessory or used to craft a Gem.

If players are a high enough level, then they should choose thefirst option (Discuss the Matter). Not only will players get the Collectible Items for defeating them, but they'll also be able to loot the Supply Container. Inside are x2 Gemstones, x2 Accessories, and 1 Ether Cylinder. If players are under leveled or struggled fighting the three Kevesi soldiers or Grebels, then it may be wise to just be a good sport and hand over the supplies.

After players have made their decision, return to Colony 9 and speak to Camilla. Turning in Forgotten Supplies gives players the following:
