The Nintendo Switch has plenty of exciting exclusives this year, one of them being Monolith Soft's upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the third numbered entry in the long-running JRPG series. This game was revealed earlier this year, giving fans an insight into what to expect for the possible conclusion of the trilogy. A Nintendo Direct focused on Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was broadcasted in late June, getting fans excited about the game's release later this month. This direct focused on the exploration, combat, and story.

This Direct also announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be getting an Expansion Pass, which will include a brand-new story expansion. This expansion pass will be available post-launch, and it will be released in four waves. The first content will first be released near the end of July and will continue being released up until the end of 2023. With the game's release drawing near, Nintendo is showing off some content fans should expect in the first and second volumes.

The first volume of DLC will arrive on the launch day of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, with this pack providing items, accessories, and clothing for players. These items can be used during gameplay, which based on the image, can be utilized to help create better weapons. The accessories will likely fall under the same category. As for the clothing, these are dark navy recolors of Noah and Mio's existing outfits from the base game.

The second volume for Xenoblade Chronicles 3's expansion pass is a New Hero and a set of challenging battles. This will be released at the very end of 2022, which a player can experience a unique story scenario to recruit a character. The silhouette doesn't give any indication of which previously playable Xenoblade character will be added through this DLC, though fans are theorizing the most likely candidate to be Poppi or Pyra from the second game.

The third DLC wave for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 promises a challenging battle with a hero character, where they can participate in a series of side-quests once recruited and will arrive at the end of April 2023. The fourth DLC wave will contain an entirely new story scenario, which will release at the end of 2023 as mentioned previously. Fans are speculating that based on the Expansion Pass' artwork, this story scenario could involve the previous game's protagonists Shulk and Rex.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will release on July 29, 2022, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
