Nintendo fans are eagerly anticipating the release of several exclusives coming to the Switch this year. One of these is Monolith Soft's upcoming JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which was revealed earlier this year and will be the third mainline entry in the series. While the initial trailer provided insight into how the third game would be concluding the trilogy, it was even more surprising when Xenoblade Chronicles 3 would be coming out earlier than previously announced, going from September to July. With the game now only a few weeks away, Nintendo has been giving fans extensive looks into what to expect for this upcoming JRPG.

Near the end of June, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 got its own Nintendo Direct, which focused on the exploration, combat, story, DLC, and more. It gave fans a look at the six main party members, Noah, Eunie, Mio, Lanz, Taion, and Sena, along with their roles in the ongoing war between the Keves and Agnus. The direct also showed off how the Ouroboros fusion mechanics worked, as well as how the class system could change the dynamics of combat. While separate trailers and video showcases have been in Japanese and English, players will be able to play in either language at launch.

This was confirmed in a tweet that was posted by the Nintendo UK account, which had a short cutscene from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 with the party searching for water in a desert. It highlights both the English and Japanese voice tracks, switching between them as the video plays, and showcases all the party members speaking in either language once.

The account notes that, unlike most games that have additional language support, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will have both Japanese and English dub tracks at launch. It makes a point that no additional downloads are required, and it is as simple as a toggle in the options menu. For fans who are worried that the tracks might not match the lip movements, it's also been confirmed that the cutscenes will have matching lip syncs depending on the language that players have selected.

Fans have expressed their joy at both languages being available out of the gate, giving them a chance to play in their preferred language. Some fans enjoyed the British English accents in the English Dub, with many fans citing that part of the appeal of these games is the varied accents of all the party members. Others who weren't the biggest fan of the accents expressed that they were grateful that Japanese would be an option at launch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on July 29th, 2022.
