The Preseason for Ubisoft's XDefiant is coming to a close, and with it comes the fast-approaching release of the highly anticipated Season 1 update. While many fans may be wondering when to expect the release of XDefiant Season 1, Ubisoft has provided details on its exact start date and unveiled much of the content yet to come.
XDefiant launched into its Preseason on May 21, 2024, opening the doors for players to jump into its fast-paced, arena-style shooter gameplay. This free-to-play shooter has already seen several small content drops, including the release of its Team Deathmatch game mode, changes to weapon progression, and a much-needed nerf to Sniper Rifles. However, Season 1 sees the arrival of the first big content drop for XDefiant, much to the excitement of many players.
XDefiant Producer Confirms Highly-Requested Feature is in Development
One of the executive producers on XDefiant, Mark Rubin, confirms that a highly-requested feature is in development for the game.
When Does XDefiant Season 1 Release?
Season 1 for XDefiant will commence on July 2 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. This will mark the end of XDefiant's Preseason, giving players a short window to claim their Preseason Battle Pass rewards. An in-depth look at all the available content for Season 1 will also be unveiled on July 1 in an episode of XDebrief on Ubisoft's official YouTube channel.
In the meantime, while players await the arrival of Season 1, anyone who logs into XDefiant before the end of the Preseason will receive up to 10 Battle Pass XP Boosters and a Common Weapon Skin for both the M4A1 and M44.
What To Expect With XDefiant Season 1
Season 1 will mark the debut of additional content for XDefiant. The first and biggest standout addition is the debut of Rainbow Six Seige's GSK Faction, featuring a roster of Faction Abilities and three playable characters. The Season 1 Battle Pass will also make its debut, providing various cosmetic rewards for both free and premium Battle Pass owners. On the topic of new rewards, three additional weapons will also arrive with this upcoming seasonal update, including the L115 Sniper Rifle, the Sawed-Off Shotgun, and the LVOA-C Assault Rifle.
But that's not all. Players can also expect to see a new map for each month that Season 1 is live. The maps Ubisoft unveiled include Clubhouse and Rockefeller from Rainbow Six Siege, along with Daytona. Season 1 will also introduce Capture the Flag, providing players with an additional objective-based game mode to dive into. Finally, the last few additions for XDefiant Season 1 include the full debut of Ranked Play, featuring new Ranked Progression and rewards, along with additional Weapon Mastery Skins for players to grind for.
