XDefiant announces a second weekend Double Weapon XP event, giving players another chance to quickly level their weapons to unlock new attachments. Following a turbulent development period, where XDefiant would see multiple delays, the free to play Clancyverse shooter has finally arrived. Fan reception has been very positive, even breaking a longstanding Ubisoft launch record after reaching 1 million users within 2 and a half hours.

Still, as a live service title complete with a battle pass and rotating cosmetic items inside the in-game store, Ubisoft has big plans to keep XDefiant feeling fresh for players. Following in the footsteps of other online titles, XDefiant continues to receive updates, which not only address bugs and other issues, but bring in new content as well as tweak existing game mechanics. To continue to draw players into XDefiant, Ubisoft has announced another unique, limited-time event for the weekend of May 31.

XDefiant Players Offer Ubisoft Suggestions for the Upcoming Event

A common theme quickly developed within the comments on the social media post. Considering that one of the biggest criticisms from fans since launch is the slow speed of leveling weapons in XDefiant, most of the replies recommended that Ubisoft simply make the double weapons XP rate the standard leveling mechanism as it felt much more satisfying and in line with other first-person shooter-style games.

For now, Ubisoft has yet to acknowledge or address community-driven weapon-leveling complaints. However, XDefiant's executive producer Mark Rubin has continued to be active over social media, answering fan questions and providing sneak peeks at what's coming to the game. Just recently, Rubin confirmed new modes and features for XDefiant, including a heavily requested killcam as well as the arrival of a Search and Destroy-style game mode currently known as 1-Life Bomb.
