XDefiant is a fast-paced FPS that brings together characters from various Ubisoft franchises, like Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, The Division, and Watch Dogs into playable factions. Each faction has its own distinct abilities and specialties, offering strategic variety. Currently, XDefiant features five factions: Cleaners, Echelon, Libertad, Phantoms, and DedSec. However, only four are available from the start.

When you begin XDefiant, you’ll notice that the DedSec faction is locked. Before you can play as the iconic hackers from Watch Dogs 2, you’ll need to grind hard and unlock DedSec. How To Get The DedSec Faction

Thankfully, there are two different ways to unlock the DedSec faction in XDefiant.

Complete The Major Challenge

To get the DedSec faction for free, you will need to complete its corresponding Major Challenge, which requires you to earn a whopping 700,000 XP. This would take a considerable amount of time – about 30 hours or more – but is completely worth it if you want to play as these tech-savvy hackers.

You can earn XP points by playing matches and trying to get as many kills as you can. Additionally, completing challenges also nets you a decent amount of XP.

Purchase With Real Money

If you’d rather skip the grind for 700,000 XP and instantly unlock DedSec, you can opt for purchasing it with XCoins. You can choose from the following options:

• Sebastian and DedSec Faction – 1000 X-Coins.
• All DedSec characters, Game over Sebastian and P90 Skin – 2,500 X-Coins.

XCoins is the game’s premium currency and can only be purchased using real money. You can buy bundles of XCoins from the in-game Store. 1,000 XCoins only cost $10, while a bundle of 2,100 XCoins costs $20, which is pretty reasonable.

XDefiant DedSec Faction Features And Abilities

DedSec brings the hacking legacy of Watch Dogs to XDefiant, allowing you to disrupt the battlefield through digital manipulation. Like all other factions, DedSec has its unique set of abilities:

• Hijack (Ability): Allows you to hack into active enemy abilities and make them your own.
• Spiderbot (Ability): Deploys a Spiderbot that stuns the closest target by giving them a face hug.
• Lockout (Ultra): Unleash an AoE attack that disables the enemy team’s minimaps, HUD, and abilities.
• Fabricator (Passive Trait): Automatically duplicates any devices spawned into the map.
