XDefiant: Best Secondary Weapons, Ranked

From the M9 to the 93R, here is every secondary weapon in XDefiant, ranked!

The ACR 6.8 is currently one of the more popular weapons to run in XDefiant, and rightfully so. This nifty weapon is arguably the best Assault Rifle in the game, sporting an effectively high TTK along with great range. Though the weapon can feel a little sluggish for some, there is no denying that it is versatile. Here are some of the best loadouts for the ACR 6.8 in XDefiant!

1 Early Game ACR 6.8 Loadout

The Best Loadout For Low-Level Players

Early Game ACR 6.8 Loadout in XDefiant

ACR 6.8 Attachments:

  • Recon Barrel (Barrel)
  • Superlight Grip (Front Rail)
  • Reflex Sight (Optic)
  • Quick Mag (Magazine)
  • Heavy Grip (Rear Grip)

Kickstarting this list is a decent early-game build option for players who are currently in the process of slowly leveling up their guns. All the attachments listed above are acquired pretty early on, but will also help in making the ACR 6.8 an all-around great gun for low-level players. With this build, players will receive a 52-millisecond increase in their ADS speed, along with both an increase in magazine capacity and reload speed.

XDefiant is adding a new Far Cry-inspired map, featuring vibrant colors and dynamic environments, further enhancing the gameplay experience.

Other great attributes of this build include the reduced time that players are visible on the minimap with the Recon Barrel, and the fact that both movement speed and sprint-out time remain at baseline levels. The horizontal recoil of the ACR 6.8 has also been improved by 2.5%. However, this only really helps mitigate the bouncy recoil experienced from about 15 to 25 meters. Beyond this point, players may find the ACR to be less accurate, and will still need to practice to addapt to this. For a good early-game secondary, go with the M9.

2 Close-Range ACR 6.8 Loadout

The Best Loadout To Compete In The Close-Range Meta

Close Range ACR 6.8 Loadout in XDefiant

ACR 6.8 Attachments:

  • Leather-Wrapped Foregrip (Front Rail)
  • Reflex Sight (Optic)
  • Quick Mag (Magazine)
  • Quick Draw Grip (Rear Grip)
  • Lightweight Stock (Stock)

Next up is an ACR 6.8 build tailored to improve the weapon's handling attributes, making it a formidable choice in the close-range meta. This build is perfect for aggressive Libertad and Echelon Faction members, who excel in close-quarters combat. With this setup, players can expect a sprint speed increase from 0.9 m/s to 1.0 m/s, along with an improved walking speed from 0.9 m/s to 1.3 m/s.

Sprint-out time has also been significantly reduced from 320 milliseconds to 304 milliseconds, allowing players to engage opponents much faster after coming out of a sprint. Additionally, players will benefit from improved reload speeds and 5 extra rounds in their magazine. While ADS speed is slightly diminished by 32 milliseconds, it remains comparable to many other loadout options. The only major drawback of this loadout is the reduction in ADS stability, which is decreased from 5% to 6%. The recoil can also be a bit harder to control, especially beyond the 40-meter mark. For a good secondary, go with the 93R.

3 Low Recoil ACR 6.8 Loadout

The Best Loadout For Reducing Recoil

Low Recoil ACR 6.8 Loadout in XDefiant

ACR 6.8 Attachments:

  • Muzzle Brake (Muzzle)
  • Angled Grip (Front Rail)
  • Reflex Sight (Optic)
  • Extended Mag (Magazine)
  • Precision Stock (Stock)

The biggest drawback of the base version of the ACR 6.8 is its recoil, which initially kicks up vertically before veering to the right the longer it is fired. This build aims to mitigate this issue by drastically reducing the weapon's horizontal recoil, making it easier for players to control it across all ranges by simply pulling down while firing.

With the above attachments, players can expect the ACR 6.8 to be much more controllable from a distance, making it much easier to stay on target. ADS stability has also improved from 6% to 7%, further increasing accuracy. Though the damage at both short and medium ranges has been reduced by 5%, affecting the weapon’s performance from 31 meters to 43 meters, the extra ammunition in each magazine helps bridge the gap by providing more bullets to eliminate opponents with. Players should be sure to pair this with the 93R secondary to keep them covered at close range.

4 Long Range ACR 6.8 Loadout

The Best Loadout To Compete In The Long Range Meta

Long Range ACR 6.8 Loadout in XDefiant

ACR 6.8 Attachments:

  • Barrel Extender (Muzzle)
  • Chrome-Lined Barrel (Barrel)
  • Angled Grip (Front Rail)
  • Reflex Sight (Optic)
  • Extended Mag (Magazine)

Finally, we have a loadout tailored to boosting the ACR 6.8's performance in the long-range meta in XDefiant. With these attachments, players can expect their damage at both short and medium ranges to be buffed by 30%, improving the effective damage range from 33–45 meters to 43–58 meters. ADS stability is also improved from 6% to 7%, providing increased accuracy.

That's not all, as the magazine size of the ACR 6.8 has been increased to 45 rounds, providing players with more bullets to take out opponents before needing to reload. Though sprint-out time has increased, and sprint mobility has been reduced from 0.9 m/s to 0.8 m/s, this ACR 6.8 build is excellent for mitigating range reduction when running the Cleaners Faction, as well as for gunning down opponents while sitting behind a Mag Barrier as the Phantom Faction. To cover any firefights at close range, be sure to take the 93R as a secondary.
