Over the past week, players have been bombarded with a ton of new information about the PS5. It seems like everything that has been released about the new console has been dissected and analyzed by gamers around the globe, including the PS5's startup screen. Now it seems that Xbox is trying to swing some of that momentum back into its favor by showing off what could be Xbox Series X's new start sound.

Xbox is currently in the lead up to its big July Xbox 20/20. The event, which was previously scheduled for June, will show off what players can expect from the new Xbox Series X when it launches this fall. Many are hopeful to get a peek at the new UI for the console, as well as new exclusive titles like Halo: Infinite.

Now it seems that Xbox is trying to tease some of its announcements in the lead up to the big event. In a tweet on Wednesday night, the official Xbox account shared a 15 second sound clip with the text "[new Xbox sound]."

The sound itself is suspected of being the new start sound for the Xbox Series X. It's a little too long to be something like a general notification or party chat invite, and is actually a little reminiscent of previous PlayStation startup screens.

While many players are excited at their first taste of the new Series X user experience, there are still some lingering questions. With the startup sound being quite different than the Xbox One or Xbox 360, players might start to wonder if the screen that accompanies the sound will also be different than the typical flashes of green, white, and silver they have grown accustomed to. Hopefully this question and more will be answered at the upcoming event in July.

Xbox Series X will be available this holiday season.
