Slated to release next year, Space Jam: A New Legacy is one of 2021's most highly-anticipated movies, finally bringing LeBron James, Bugs Bunny, and the rest of the Space Jam crew back for another nostalgic spin. As with the previous film, it seems the game is set to bag itself a video game adaptation, with Microsoft recently announcing that it would be making a tie-in collaboration with Warner Brothers to ship alongside the movie on Xbox Game Pass.

There's a twist, however, as Xbox has revealed that it wants the help of fans to turn Space Jam: A New Legacy into an inventive adaption of the upcoming sequel. Revealed via the company's website, Microsoft is asking fans to send in their ideas for what a Space Jam video game would look like, with Xbox stating that the two best ideas will be added to the game.

The rules of the contest are simple: Entrants must pick one of several images available to dictate the genre of their chosen idea and then they have to pitch it in 500 words or under. As for what the ideas should be, it seems there's essentially no limit outside of it relating to the corresponding picture entrants choose, with Microsoft claiming "the loonier, the better." Entrants must be a minimum of 14 years old and the competition ends on December 30, so those wanting to get their ideas put into an actual Space Jam game have just over two weeks to do it.

Winning fans won't just get their idea brought to life, but will also get their name in the credits, a winner's bundle with signed LeBron James memorabilia, Space Jam merchandise, a personalized Xbox Series S, Nike VIP packs, a private screening of the film for family and friends, and a coding workshop for their local community. All in all, it looks to be a fun contest with a lot of lucrative prizes to be won.
