The gaming community is chugging along towards the final stretch of 2020 and in a very unorthodox year, there are still a few known announcements fans are waiting for, specifically the price and release dates of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. It seems as though the Xbox Series X's price and release date are finally known and all but official, according to a brand new leak.

First officially talked about all the way back in 2019, the Xbox Series X has been touted as the next-generation machine for Microsoft and looks to bring console gamers on par with some higher-end PC builds. Phil Spencer of Xbox has been very clear with the Xbox audience that the new console will be a monster full of raw power that can bring games up to 120 frames per second and native 4k resolutions and even 8k resolutions in some cases. The Xbox Series X is said to be four times as powerful as the Xbox One X which has lead fans to speculate that the new console will carry a hefty price tag.

A new report from Windows Central is claiming to have all the pricing and release date details for the Xbox Series X and fortunately, it falls in line with some current console pricing expectations. According to Windows Central, the Xbox Series X will cost $499, the same price as the original Xbox One and Xbox One X at their respective launches, and will release on November 10 of this year. Microsoft will be continuing its Xbox All Access program for the Xbox Series X which will allow for consumers to finance the new console for $35 a month.

While this news is still a rumor until Microsoft announces anything officially, this leak along with the leaks of the Xbox Series S are being backed by prominent insiders across the industry. Xbox is planning to have another event before the launch of the new consoles, which should be this month, and that next event should confirm the price and launch date of both consoles. Along with this information, another rumor is suggesting there will be a new announcement for Xbox Game Pass to increase the value of the service.

It is unfortunate that Xbox didn't have a chance to announce this news itself as everyone including Pringles tried to spoil the Xbox Series X news, but fans can finally mark a date on a calendar and wait patiently for the official step into the next-generation. The leak didn't mention any information about when pre-orders may be available but that shouldn't be far behind an official announcement.
