With Sony and Microsoft both keeping much about their next-gen consoles secret still, fans have taken it upon themselves to create interesting takes on things like the PS5 startup screen and more. Now some fan art has appeared on Reddit of what the Xbox Series X game boxes could look like, with the artist using the fictional Alan Wake: Chapter 2 video game as an example.

The Xbox Series X box art mock-up looks pretty sleek, with the Xbox logo in the corner along with some notes about the game's compatibility. It's marked with "Xbox Console Exclusive," keeping with Microsoft's PC gaming push that is seeing all its big games release on both PC and Xbox. The mock-up notes that the game is enhanced when playing on the Xbox Series X console, but that it will still work on the Xbox One. It's been suggested that this would be the case with most Xbox Series X games for the first year the console is on sale, so it's a nice attention to detail.

Most of the box is free to showcase some impressive Alan Wake: Chapter 2 art work, showing the titular protagonist in a dreary, fog-covered forest that looks like something from the first game. The other detail to take away from it is a lighthouse in the background that Wake appears to be traveling to. Of course, this is just a fan mock-up and has nothing to do with the actual Alan Wake video game franchise, but it's still interesting nonetheless.

Finally, the bottom of the box art shows the Remedy logo along with the Xbox Game Studios logo. The implication here seems to be that Microsoft has acquired Remedy. Microsoft has been on a studio acquisition spree these last few years, with the company building quite the roster of studios to ensure that the Xbox Series X has much better first-party support when compared to the Xbox One.

The attention to detail with this art is pretty impressive, but ultimately it's just fan art and is not indicative of what the Xbox Series X boxes will actually look like. As for its use of the fictional game Alan Wake: Chapter 2, many fans would no doubt hope for that to eventually come to fruition. That remains to be seen, but in the meantime, upcoming Control DLC may answer some lingering questions about Alan Wake.
